Optus My Tab

 

The Optus My Tab offers a far cheaper option for tablet lovers without too great a hit to its usability. Those who understand what it can and can't do will get great use out of this device.

Very cheap ; Good user experience ; Android 2.1 ; Decent battery life

Cheap, plastic build ; Some performance limitations ; Camera is rubbish ; Recharging the battery takes hours

But be aware of its limitations too. The My Tab doesn't support Flash in the web browser, doesn't love to multitask (though it's technically capable of it) and isn't powerful enough to playback any of the HD video files you have lying around on your...

i didn't like this full when i got it home. waited for the update and now i love it. it now does most of what i needed it to do. screen is ok resolution, now i can store apps to micro sd card. does live wallpapers. very good budget device. i suggest...

Debated about buying one, especially as they're hard to track down, but did finally find one and bought it. Updated it to Froyo 2.2 as soon as I could.

Design; ease of use; cheap; update to 2.2 helped with touch

a bit slow at times; memory gets used easily, screen bubble

It's now on Walmart's website under a different brand name of "Filemate". I've been hearing a lot about this product in the US, but I've never been able to get it until now. I think they launch quietly a few days ago.

I bought the tab a couple of days ago, impressed with it for the price, i have a HTC desire also, it's obviously not up to the same tasks but is quite good, the screen is easy to use, battery life is good.

passes the granny test ease of use

I guess pushed for 'bad' android 2.1 not 2.2 (upgrade to 2.2 soon) and multi touch like iphone...not a big issue really
