Review: OQO 02 UMPC

The 1-pound OQO is small and slick, but still fairly comfortable to use, with a decent keyboard and a bright 5-inch, 800×480-pixel LCD. Our test...

Numeric keypad on the ride side of the keyboard is cool and convenient. Screen rotates between landscape and portrait modes. Supports HDMI and DVI video connections at up to 1920×1200-pixel resolution

Weak speaker produced distorted, shrilly sound. System fan can be very loud when doing multimedia tasks like video playback. Would’ve been nice to have a touchscreen in addition to the eraserhead and mouse inputs

OQO 02 review

Powered by a 1.5GHz VIA C7M processor, the OQO 02 already looks somewhat retro, much like the Samsung Q1 Ultra that it resembles. Unlike the Samsung, however, the 02 has a very solid keyboard that slides out from behind its 5in-wide screen.

An oddity, the OQO 02 is expensive and feels dated.

OQO 02 review

The OQO 02 is more UMPC (ultramobile PC) than mobile internet device. It runs Windows XP Tablet Edition, which means it's a fully-laden mini computer, but it's also on the chunkier side.

An oddity, the OQO 02 is expensive and feels dated.
