OQO model 01

For users who need a scaled-down PC on the road but find an ultraportable too large, the OQO model 01 might be the right choice. But weak power and its small screen and keyboard are likely to keep it a niche product.

A working Windows XP computer in a PDA size. Bluetooth. Gorgeous, innovative design.

Expensive. Weak processing power. USB 1.1 only.

More Notebooks: • Microsoft Surface Pro (2017)• Dell Latitude 7280• Samsung Galaxy Book (12-Inch, LTE)• Dell Latitude 5285 2-in-1• LG gram 14 (2017)• more

OQO model 01

A full Windows XP computer in a supersmall case, the OQO trades off usability and features for its size. It will be just what doctor ordered for some business and industrial users, but it requires too many compromises for general use.

Very versatile; runs full Windows XP OS; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are included; good docking solution; attractive design.

Weak performance; short battery life; runs hot; too big for a pocket; expensive.

A full Windows XP PC that's barely bigger than a PDA, the OQO Model 01 is incredibly cool but makes too many compromises.

OQO Model 01+- A Real Handheld-Sized PC

You can enter information on the OQO in several ways. Slide the screen up to reveal the thumb keyboard, which is larger than keyboards you'd find on devices like the BlackBerry, but is still too small for standard typing. You use your thumbs only,...

With the included bundle of accessories, the OQO is easy to hook up to a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers so that you can use it as a standard desktop, then unhook it for easy traveling. What's not to love? Well, the $2,099 price tag puts it more...

While it's an impressive package, it's price and features can't stand up to UMPCs, and sales are reportedly poor. News reports indicate that OQO management knows it can't compete in the consumer space and is targeting business and vertical markets,...

Mini-Review: OQO model 01+

Joel checked out the OQO model 01+ a couple of weeks ago and then sent it to me for a few days before we had to return the review sample. I opened up the large black box and found the OQO device sitting securely in the center foam cutout. I

Plenty of power in a small package ; A fully functioning OS ; Good battery life ; Dockable ; Great looking screen

Can get very, very hot ; Keyboard isn't backlit ; Only 512MB of RAM ; Low default screen resolution ; Price

As long as you don't try to compare it to your laptop or PDA, the OQO Model 01+ shines brilliantly. The functionality is amazing, and the capabilities are outstanding, considering the size of the device. Not to say that...

OQO Model 01+ Review

The OQO Model 01+ is not quite a handheld computer, not quite a tablet, and not quite a laptop, but mimics functions of all three. It's a 1 GHz desktop PC crammed into a package 5 inches long and 3.4 inches wide.

OQO model 01 Computer

The OQO model 01 comes in an elegant and classy large black box which holds the computer, stylus, world charger (notebook style inline brick), a metal stand, slip case, docking cable and a software restore CD. There is no comprehensive printed or PDF...

Real Windows XP in a package that's not much larger than a PDA! Good compliment of ports on-board and via the docking cable. Docking cable is included, as is a desktop stand. Has both WiFi and Bluetooth. Sharp screen that's surprisingly readable....

Expensive! Using the OQO without an external mouse and keyboard can prove tedious as Windows XP is designed for the mouse and keyboard, and the OQO's stylus, eraser stick pointer and small keyboard can't compete with standard notebook input methods....

A marvel of technology and for now, unique. The Sony Vaio U750 is the only thing that came close and it's both larger and on its way out. Windows XP in the palm of your hand and in your pocket just can't be beat if you're a road warrior with serious...
