Panasonic Toughbook 40 Review

Nearly invincible and invulnerable ; Many modular options ; Epic runtime with second battery ; Keyboard and touchpad don't require brute force ; High-resolution webcam

Big and heavy ; Pentagon-style price tag ; Wi-Fi 6, not 6E

Formidable construction and extensive customizability make Panasonic's Toughbook 40 the cost-no-object model of a mission-critical rugged laptop.

Panasonic Toughbook 33 (2021) Review

Shrugs off abuse that would shatter ordinary 2-in-1s ; Plenty of ports ; Super-bright touch screen for outdoor visibility ; First-class webcam

Expensive and heavy ; Lackluster battery life with standard cells in test unit ; Optional long-life cells add bulk ; Tiny touchpad, designed for gloved use, can balk at bare fingers

In or out of its keyboard dock, Panasonic's 2021 refresh of its Toughbook 33 tablet is built to take all the hardships a first responder or field worker can dish out.

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 packs impressive battery life and media friendly features into its super-protective shell.

Outstanding battery life. Tough-as-nails exterior. Briefcase handle. Port covers lining all sides. Latch-removable hard drive and optical drive.

Optional features can price many consumers out.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 review: Panasonic Toughbook CF-52

Panasonic Toughbook CF-52

Built-in handle; doesn't skimp on connections; includes wireless broadband and 802.11n; extremely sturdy.

Bulky and heavy; vulnerable optical drive; not configurable.

If you need a laptop that can withstand a lot of abuse without spending a fortune on an all-out fully rugged model, the Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 offers ample peace of mind plus the latest Centrino Duo components.

Panasonic Toughbook 40 review

The Toughbook 40 isn't for everyone, but its versatility, durability and incredible battery life make it the perfect partner for some tough jobs.

Still, it’s not hard to be impressed by the lengths to which Panasonic went to make a device that can stand up to the elements and difficult environments. It’s not for everyone — but for some professions, it’s exactly what they’ll need to stay reliably...

Panasonic Toughbook CF-52

A semi-rugged notebook for the semi-rugged individual.

Resistant to accidental spills and can survive infrequent drops and bumps, PC Card and ExpressCard/54 slots, long battery life

DVD burner vibrated noticeably, handle makes the notebook bulky

For demanding users who tend to miss their mouth while they sip, or for anyone who is always using their notebook on the road, the semi-rugged Toughbook CF-52 is a worthy proposition. But it won't withstand everything you throw at it.

Panasonic Toughbook 33 review

The first fully rugged 2-in-1 laptop is here

Anti-reflective QHD screen ; Nails the hybrid form factor ; VDA adapter cuts costs ; Windows 7 option

Second-rate trackpad ; No USB-C ports

The Toughbook 33 isn’t thin, light or stylish, but it does introduce the 2-in-1 category to mobile workforce users whose unpredictable workplace environments demand a fully rugged design on a device that’s forward thinking, but simultaneously backwards...

Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 review

A reassuringly well-built laptop that is suited to outdoor business use

Robust design ; Decent performance ; Good battery life

Basic feature set

Sturdy but not completely safeguarded in all conditions, this is nevertheless a well-built laptop
