Samsung ATIV Book 7 review

Due to its outdated look and feel, and unimpressive performance, the Ativ Book 7 isn't the best Ultrabook for the average user, but its outstanding battery life and beautiful display will appeal to travelers.

At first glance, Samsung’s Ativ Book 7 seems like an Ultrabook that should have been released two years ago. The system is sleek, but materials and build quality don’t back up the premium appearance or $1,060 price tag. A current-generation MacBook...

Samsung ATIV Book 7 review: a high-end Ultrabook arriving just before Haswell

The ATIV Book 7 is a good value among touchscreen Ultrabooks, with a reliable trackpad, fast SSD and lovely display. The main trade-offs are a shallow keyboard and a relatively heavy frame.

Beautiful 1080p display ; Fast transfer speeds, runs cool and quiet ; Great trackpad ; Good audio quality

Heavy for a touchscreen Ultrabook ; Flat keyboard ; No Core i7 or 256GB SSD option ; Lots of bloatware

So far, it would seem that $1,060 for a machine with a Core i5 processor, 1080p touchscreen and 128GB SSD is a pretty good deal, the lack of Haswell notwithstanding. And we're not just talking about the spec sheet, though that certainly makes for a...

Samsung Series 7 Ultra is nice, but you may want to wait

The aluminum Series 7 is a good-looking thin-and-light ultrabook with long battery life, but its processor is now behind a generation. Still, if you can get a good deal on it, it would be worth picking up.

The aluminum-bodied ; looks and feels great. Excellent battery life; a very nice 1080p touch screen; a comfortable backlit keyboard and a responsive, large clickpad.

The Series 7 has two USB 2.0 ports but only one USB 3.0, and, as with most ultrabooks, the battery is nonremovable and there is no optical drive. It has an older processor and integrated graphics.

The shiny Samsung Series 7 Ultra has a long battery life and nice design, but its now-older processor gives us pause.

Samsung Series 7 Chonos 15.6in Core i7 notebook

Review Surely someone is having a laugh. Having read nothing but five-star reviews of this luxury notebook on other sources, I find myself surprised to be staring at a four-star product on my desk. Four stars is pretty good, you know, but that's one...

The Samsung Series 7 Chronos is a great notebook that offers a lot of the kinds of thing I tend to harp on about, such as a big screen, a full keyboard, USB 3.0 ports and a multi-touch trackpad. With so many competitively priced notebooks around, you...
