worked 1st try

if i could give the board 4 1/2 eggs, i would've. As long as nothing dramatic happens, I have absolutely NO hesitation recommending this budget board to ANYONE! Buy it, you won't be sorry, but as always RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING ANYTHING! EXCELLENT BOARD,...

everything works as advertised! I'm not overclocking, but it has all the functions and settings needed to do so. Expert reviews gave it their best buy award. good audio codec, has heatsinks where needed, cooler combo option allowing most lga-775...

only con, as others have stated, is that it is a full inch short of atx standards, leaving right side (ram slots, 24 pin connector, sata ports etc..) not held down perfectly, but anyone with a brain can minimize any potential problems by BEING CAREFUL....

Great board

My previous computer had an ASRock board and it has lasted for years with no problem. (Other then the Realtek audio) I just wanted an upgrade. The only problem with this board is that I get a periodic pop-up over the system tray that says a device has...

Good price. Solid well made board

Realtek audio

Average

RMA'd it

Cheap ; Good amount of SATA ports

Very flimsy ; Isn't a full ATX board (it won't reach the full set of standoffs) ; Asrock Tech Support is bad

Astounded

I found this easy to use with clear markings for my first solo build and it is well made. I loved everything about it and will continue to buy from ASROCK

The 8-pin hookup to the mobo is on the upper left part and that always bothers me but not really a huge con

NOT AS ADVERTISED

ASROCK's technical support sucks. The response to my question of how to configure the RAID for JBOD was "Check the manual" no where in the documintation is JBOD listed except in the features list.

Number of SATA ports

This board is listed as supporting Raid JBOD. It truly does not. With out this functionality Windows Home Server will not recognise the disks, and will not install ; I will be returning this board to New Egg

Wonderful!

Other than the SATA ports placement, I like the board. Worked right out of the box with not one issue. I had been eyeballing X58 boards for about 2 months puting several on my wish list. I just couldn't justify spending the extra money over a 1156...

Great budget board. Nothing fancy like the X58's. I didn't need all the additions from the 1366 models, so I chose 1156 and I am completely satisfied. I am coming from a Gigabyte 770(DDR2) and my system seems a little more snappier

The layout is not the best. I took off an egg due to the placement of the 3gbs SATA ports. My Sapphire 6870 covers them completely. Why put the ports in line with the video card

Effective, with Annoyances

In my very short time with this board and it's accompanying hardware, I've encountered a number of infrequent problems, but I can't claim at present that these are the fault of the board, so don't take these as more cons. When I first turned on my PC...

Easy installation, straightforward slots. An excellent, non-forceful method of locking PCI-E cards into place. Plenty of USB space. Default settings ensure you're good-to-go pretty much out of the box ; OC Tuner and Intelligent Energy Saver are...

Certain things about the hardware design make me uneasy ; Several power slots for the case and CPU fans are placed very close to capacitors, and use a small latch to keep them in-place. The problem is the latch is almost always pointed in the direction...

DO NOT GET WITH MUSHKIN RAM!

It loaded up easily enough and didn't have any problems installing my software but then it started to lock up. It completely froze and there was no rhyme or reason to it. It happened when I was running multiple apps as well as sitting idle. After...

Price. USB 3. Port space

Will not work with Mushkin RAM

Oh Yeah,.....Good to go

The P55 platform is supposed to getting a little long in the tooth by now, but this mainboard with i7-870 CPU in it, 8GB of DDR3-1600 RipJaws RAM, and one of my two GTX570's in it is still full of teeth. Awesome performance!

Latest BIOS allows some very nice overclocking that is automagic. My 2,600MHz. i5-750 runs stable at 3,800 MHz. Full featured and reliable. I just ordered a second one with an i7-870 CPU and another i7-870 CPU for this board too. I use Corsair H50...
