Bad.

 

Keep in mind, if you buy this, its thicker than smaller capacity drives, make sure your laptop has room for it.

Cheap, large capacity

Fits my MacBook

 

Side Note: SuperDuper will clone Mac partition but not Bootcamp/Windows partitions.Will update review in a month or so to report any issues or failures.

1 Terabyte! Fits my late 2008 aluminum MacBook! Used SuperDuper to clone the drive and had it installed and running in less than an hour

Drive is a little slower but expected that going in. Like all 1Tb drives it is 12.5mm thick rather than 9.5mm. Fits great into my computer but you will need to reasearch to make sure it will fit yours

Grey market drive - no warranty

 

This is a great drive technically speaking

however, Newegg is currently selling a grey market/OEM version. The "3 year warranty" is not covered by Toshiba. We ordered 40 and they are all out of warranty through Toshiba

Catastrophic Failure

 

It was a good deal for its price, but now having to pay for another brand at an additional cost removes any cost efficiency initially realized by this price/capacity/form factor combination.

1TB capacity in a small form factor. Even at 12.5mm it still fit perfectly in a 13" Mac Book Pro. No issues with read/write speeds

I ordered this on 10/22/2010 and on 11/28/2010 it failed. This puts it just beyond the 30-day warranty that Newegg provides by default. It's not Newegg's fault, but they should be aware of substandard products like this

it says right in the description that its 12.5mm even if it did not you can go and check on other sites like i have. i am going to try and get at lease 2 more for my self for christmas or with my income tax.

been looking for a replacement drive for my laptop. so far so good i haven't had any issues with it

Incompatible form factor!

This product is not a standard 2.5" form factor drive, it is about a third thicker than a standard 2.5" drive and will NOT fit in most computers or external enclosures designed for 2.5" drives. Newegg should CLEARLY warn customers of this
