Toshiba Portege R835 review: Toshiba Portege R835

Reviewing the Toshiba Portege R835-P88 is like revisiting an old friend. Previous versions of this laptop have won our coveted Editors' Choice Award, by offering excellent all-around performance in a slim, lightweight 13-inch body, for a lot less than...

This latest version of the Toshiba Portege R835 is still a great value, packing a big hard drive, optical drive, and full-power processor into a chassis not much bigger than an ultrabook.

This 13-inch laptop once felt thin and light, but similarly priced newer laptops beat it on style and portability.

This one-time favorite is still an excellent go-to 13-inch laptop, if you don't need something quite as slim as an ultrabook, and you can get it for the right price.

Toshiba Portégé M780-S7230 - 12.1 - Core i5 520M - Windows 7 Pro (32/64 bits) / XP Tablet PC downgrade - 3 GB RAM - 250 GB HDD review: Toshiba Portégé

Toshiba Portégé M780-S7230 - 12.1 - Core i5 520M - Windows 7 Pro (32/64 bits) / XP Tablet PC downgrade - 3 GB RAM - 250 GB HDD

Responsive touch controls; fast Core i5 processor; lightweight for its size.

Has an unattractive bulky, old-fashioned design; battery life falls short; no multitouch in tablet mode; Windows 7 touch environment still leaves much to be desired.

In a post-iPad era, Toshiba's expensive and needlessly bulky Portege M780 is a convertible tablet notebook that feels like a design relic from five years ago.

Toshiba Portege M780 Tablet PC

Testers found the Toshiba Portege M780 easy to handle. They loved this tablet's stable screen pivot and the full-sized keyboard proved easy to use. The trackpad was comfortable and the fingerprint security was a nice touch. If it's important to you,...

"I Love My Ugy Duckling!"

Electronics and I frequently don't get along, but from the second I pulled this kind of ugly little computer from the box it was love, from it's brushed steel facade to it's weird CSI font keyboard. It's the only one I found well under $1,000 at such a...

Toshiba Portégé M780-10X

Performs well and it a great tool for work in either school or the office.

The battery could be a bit longer lasting and the hinger which prevent the screen from twisting could be tighter gripping. Also very annoyingly I have been unable to get the warranty to register.

Toshiba Portégé M780-10V

Small and light, touch screen tech pretty good!

Very expensive! Due to 32 bit operating system ram is upgradeable to 8gb but can only use 2.6gb very misleading
