Toshiba Portege R300 Review

The price as listed on the Toshiba.ca website is $2,299, which is about $2,080 U.S

Small size and low weight ; Attractive design ; Control buttons at the front and AC adapter button to the side ; Good battery life ; Quiet running ; Included 3 year warranty

Slow Core Duo processor ; Slow 4200RPM hard drive ; Annoying HDD protection software, overly sensitive ; No extra battery add on and a 9 cell battery pack costs twice the regular battery ; Awkward position of the VGA port

Although the Portege R300 is an unique slimline laptop, in its category it is not the top of the line. The Core Duo technology and 4200RPM hard drive make it less attractive. However, the design will definitely raise eyebrows and the 2-lbs of weight is...

Toshiba Portege M300 Review (pics, specs)

Toshiba really knows how to focus on a segment and the Portege M300 is another solid addition to the Portege line up. It is compact, pleasingly portable, well-built, possessing a good spec and ready for business. This is a very solid, if not perfect,...

Toshiba Portege M300 laptop

When we think of Toshiba notebooks we either think of their impressive Qosmio range, which combines TV and multimedia in one box; or its Satellite range of boxy but powerful desktop alternatives.

Powerful, long battery life

Poor graphics

The Toshiba Portégé M300 managed to impress us on almost every level. While it may lack the necessary grunt power to run 3D games, with its above average battery life and robust chassis, this is a notebook for the real mobile workers out there.

Toshiba Portege M300

The M300 will satisfy users who need a stylish lightweight notebook with an optical drive for their work. Mind the processing power, though.

Superb battery life ; CF + SD card reader ; Optical drive included ; Magnesium-alloy casing

Average performance ; No S-video out ; Tiny mouse buttons

The unit runs on Windows XP Professional Edition with Service Pack 2 and includes a variety of software such as Microsoft Office OneNote 2003, Norton AntiVirus 2005 and Toshiba Assist, an interface which gives access to useful utilities such as...

Toshiba Portege M300

I'm using this laptop at the moment in elective geography at school (mind you they're less than a year old here). It is INSANE how many faults it has.

Really light

Freeze ALL THE TIME ; It's always installing something that doesn't need to be installed the minute you turn it on ; Booting up takes AGES ; This is the third laptop i've had to use this lesson because the rest won't log me on. It always happens with...
