Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 review: An excellent ultrabook value

Editors' note: According to Toshiba's specification information for the Portege Z935-P300, the RAM is not user upgradeable. However, one of our readers, "fozzyfozborne," confirms that while 2GB of the Z935-P300 memory is fixed to the motherboard, there...

The Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 has very good features, performance, and battery life for its price and is very thin and very light.

The Z935-P300's keyboard may be too small for some users and the laptop doesn't feel particularly sturdy, especially the lid/display.

The Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 is an excellent ultrabook value if you can overlook its few design shortcomings.

Toshiba Portege Z935-P300

The Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 is an ultrabook that makes very few concessions in the name of light weight and thin construction. On our benchmark test, it was powerful enough to hold its own against a much more expensive, high-end ultrabook. With an...

Very Light. Very thin. Good battery life. Speedy SSD. Full sized HDMI, Ethernet, and VGA. Good benchmark performance

Chrome mouse buttons attract fingerprints. Could use another USB 3.0 port

The Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 is an ultrabook that makes very few concessions in the name of lightweight and thin construction. It's a powerful system with a very good battery life, and it's our new Editors' Choice for mainstream ultrabook laptops.

Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 Ultrabook review

Travel-weary businesspeople will appreciate Toshiba's latest Portégé model, the Portégé Z935 Ultrabook. Not only is this laptop business-ready, with features such as a VGA-out port (for hooking up to a projector) and WiDi (explanation below), it's one...

The Toshiba Portégé Z935 Ultrabook is a decent laptop. For some business users, such as those who go to a lot of meetings and make basic presentations, it will be a pretty good laptop. After all, it's lightweight, is a solid overall performer, and has...

Toshiba Portege Z935-P300 Ultrabook: Lightweight, for light users

Travel-weary businesspeople will appreciate Toshiba's latest Portégé model, the Portégé Z935 Ultrabook. Not only is this laptop business-ready, with features such as a VGA-out port (for hooking up to a projector) and WiDi (see next paragraph), it's one...

For other business users--those who travel often and want to get work done on the fly--the Portégé Z935 is a poor choice. The keyboard and trackpad definitely need some work, and the overall construction doesn't seem very sturdy. Plus, multimedia...

"It's extremely lightweight, easy to carry, stays charged for hours and is user friendly"

I used one of these in a professional capacity for about two years, working both within and outside my home. It was provided to me by my office and I miss it now that I have another job. I liked it so much better than my personal MacBook; I would trade...

2nd place for horrible quality in 23 years of CS work.

The computer is very light, thin and compact, making it easy to carry around.

Absolutely horrible quality. Incredibly flimsy casing breaks on the edges of display when taken apart to replace screen (that broke because the display has no steel or aluminum base.) Extreme sacrifices in durability make it unsuitable for use.
