Toshiba Qosmio X75 A7298 review: A desktop replacement that won’t break the bank—or your back

This notebook can do it all, including driving a 4K monitor.

High-end components deliver impressive performance ; Surprisingly light for its size ; 4K video via HDMI

Single-band (2.4GHz) 802.11n Wi-Fi adapter ; Half-size arrow and function keys ; No touchscreen

Toshiba's Qosmio X75 is loaded with high-end components and delivers impeccable performance. If you need a desktop-replacement laptop, this is definitely one to consider.

Great performance and value from Toshiba's new X75 gaming laptop

Toshiba adds new Intel and Nvidia parts to its latest Qosmio desktop replacement.

The ; comes packed with an Intel Haswell CPU, new Nvidia graphics, a combo SSD/HDD drive, and even a Blu-ray writer.

The bulky design has a budget feel for a premium-price laptop, battery life is disappointingly short, and the laptop lacks newer features such as DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, or even a touch screen.

Toshiba's multimedia and gaming Qosmio X75 laptop gets great performance from its high-end components at a reasonable price, but the design and some features feel dated.

Consumer review (cnet.com)

"Excellent workhorse"

I bought this laptop to replace my desktop at work. I edit very large files and use programs like Adobe Creative Cloud that hog RAM and run slowly on consumer-grade computers. The Qosmio handles Indesign like a text file, and boots up in 3-5 seconds....

Extremely fast and powerful, very stable

Design not sexy, short battery life, no touch screen
