great laptop except the sound is terrible

Newegg was great! they were going to replace it, which was fine, but the laptop was out of stock and was not going to be re-ordered so Newegg is refunding my purchase price! thanks!

nice screen, backlit keyboard, battery life

undulating sound, up and down in waves...toshiba has this issue on several qosmios. no matter if its in games, songs, movies, etc. tech support tried everything to fix it, even had us wipe the laptop and load the drive fresh...still no fix

Best benchmark for price!!!!

For anyone who is concerned Toshiba is well known for its durability and customer support (via website and phone). Yes there are those out there who have had bad experiences but there will always will be. Also for those of you out there who do not...

The main positive feedback is the price compared to other laptops of same or similar speed. I am well known among my family and friends as a "slow buyer" one who does research, looks into forums, reads reviews, and internet searching. This laptop was...

A bit of a flimsy lid, for the lack of a better word. (if you can afford it, it always helps to get an extended warranty with any electronic) I have owned nothing but Toshiba for the last 10 years and the lids have always been a bit flimsy but I have...

Nice machine

I do realize this laptop is designed with gaming in mind. So I only docked one egg, not for the sound it creates (which can get loud when the gpu fan kicks on) but for the inability to control my fan speeds. Otherwise, I think I can work around the fan...

Red backlight for the keyboard, function key is awesome, I've been playing Starcraft II at Extreme settings comfortably. Handles games well. 3 USB 2.0 1 USB 3.0. HDMI out, VGA out, Disable the touchpad with a button. CPU gets a little hotter than any...

UGLY. I love the red backlighting. However the finish on the outside and the shiney red highlights are ugly. A little noisy, but not terribly noisy at idle. This is why I docked an egg, Toshiba's software won't allow me to use anything to adjust my fan...

Very Happy Customer

If you can get this laptop at its sale price of $999.99 it's a steal. Even if it cost a few hundred dollars more it would still be a great value for what your getting. A terrific laptop.

Fantastic value for the performance. I was simply looking for a gaming laptop that wasn't too expensive and could play my games at their medium settings. I wasn't expecting a laptop that could play my games at maximum settings at reasonable frame...

This is my first laptop so I'm not used to having to make recovery discs. It took about 2 hours to make the 5 recovery DVD's. This isn't really a complaint. It's just a reality of the modern era where companies don't give you the OS dvd

seems great

seems like a great laptop for the price only gaming laptop under $1,000 besides this one that I could find was the asus g53sw which is also a great choice but has a lower graphics card with lower quality ram and running at 5400 rpm not 7200, just...

The gtx560 from what i have heard can get very hot in intensive gaming but i am sure you could just get a cooling pad for that, also it doesn't play at 1080 but from what i have heard the video quality is amazing, only cons i have heard of

Work or play, a great deal!

Very satisfied with the purchase!

The system is robust enough to handle development tasks well and plays many games at highest settings with decent frame rates. It's not the best but for the price I couldn't find a comparable system that wasn't refurbished

Plastic construction keeps the weight down but means the lid flexes a lot. Two drive bays but only one connection
