Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7106

If you were to go hands-on with the $700 (as of March 30, 2011) Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7106 before you looked at its test scores, you'd never guess that it was one of the slower desktop replacement laptops we've tried. Subjectively, its performance...

Light for the size ; Lots of screen real estate

Short battery life ; Mediocre performance, especially in 3D graphics

The L675D-S7106 is an affordable desktop replacement with a nice display and adequate performance.

Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7052

A relatively low price tag, bright screen, and 500GB hard drive don't make up for the Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7052's poor performance, below-average battery life, and modest feature set.

Inexpensive 17.3-inch laptop. Large screen. 500GB hard drive.

Sluggish performance. Lid seemed flimsy. Keyboard and dedicated number pad flexed too much. Below-average battery life. Modest feature set.

Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7046

The Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7046 has a nice screen, but comes up short where it counts.

Inexpensive. Big screen. Roomy keyboard.

Sluggish performance. Small, 320GB hard drive. Chintzy feature set.

Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7022 Review

Desktop replacement notebooks may pull together the computing experience with more of a nod to portability than the average PC tower, but there's also a price

Terrible Wireless

All toshiba does is say send it in. They don't seem interested in fixing it. For some reason they won't let you talk to the technicians working on it.

Everything but the wireless

Wireless is terrible. It moves at about 1/4 the speed of my 4 yr old mac. It is so slow I can't watch movies on Netflix and there is a LONG delay when Skyping. I have sent it in twice to be repaired and now I'm having to send it in for a third time....

Good... For now.

Like many laptops, this one will be outdated or outrun in at least a year, but will be of good use by then.

Apart from the Win. 7 being better than Vista, This computer doesn't give me any unexpected problems

Although it has a wider screen by a few centimeters than my old laptop, it is shorter by a few centimeters in height

Better than Normal Laptop

There are bugs in BIOS. Make sure you go to Toshiba support and download BIOS 2.1 or higher. I have a Dell Inspirson E1705 (also 17" LCD Laptop) before this one. Although Toshiba satellite L675-S108 is a lot faster, my wife and I like E1705 better....

Over-sized LED-LCD is a Plus ; Ten keys, Stereo Speakers, big 500GB hard drive and 4GB memory ; HDMI output ; Multi-touch pad is cool

No hardware volume buttons or dial ; Not enough space between regular keyboard (Left) and the ten keys (Right). It could be confusing in the beginning ; Multi-touch pad is quite sensitive. I accidiently change the zoom rate in IE8 many times

Great computer

Was impressed there was very little crapware. I uninstalled Norton and that was it so far. Lots of features and attractive case. Nice sized speakers, nice sound. Boots up fast. Did not buy from Newegg. Found it on sale. Good value

Two USB ports on the right side front. DVD is to the rear. I prefer them reversed as using a mouse with other things plugged in gets in the way. No big deal. Flat type keyboard but that is not a problem either

DVD Drive Defective

Since I received two bad units, I am assuming newegg received a bad lot from Toshiba. I've had several Toshibas before, with no issues, but I decided to upgrade to a Sony as a result of these problems.

Newegg is great and immediately took back both defective units

RMA'ed two units for identical DVD drive issues. The drive vibration was so loud that you could not hear the sound from the speakers over the racket
