Toshiba Mini NB305 review

If there's been a Renaissance man in the world of first-gen netbooks it'd be the Toshiba Mini NB205. Its long battery life, comfortable keyboard and

Striking design ; One of the best netbook keyboards ; Large touchpad with right / left mouse buttons

Shorter battery life than other six-cell netbooks ; Thick bezel ; Slightly thicker than other netbooks

Toshiba Mini NB305-N600

The Toshiba Mini NB305-N600 ($380 as of April 5, 2011) comes from the higher end of Toshiba's two-part netbook family. Nothing if not eager to meet your netbook needs, Toshiba offers its two basic models--the Mini NB300 and NB500 series--in a total of...

Nice keyboard for a netbook ; Good-looking chassis and screen

Full of preloaded junkware ; Dismal performance; don't expect good multitasking

While handsome with an unusual metallic chassis, the Mini NB305-N600 is a subpar performer that costs more than comparable, better-performing competitors, including its own sibling, the NB505-N508GN.

Toshiba mini NB305-N600

The updates aren't major and there are better netbooks out there, but the Toshiba mini NB305-N600 has all your basic netbook needs for one low price.

New aluminum design. Small and compact. Dual-core Atom CPU. One of the best keyboards in the netbook category. Roomy touchpad and big mouse buttons. Affordable.

Yearning for a higher resolution. Battery life not as impressive as its predecessor.

Toshiba mini NB305-N310

The Toshiba Mini NB305-N310 is the slightly lower-end version of Toshiba's Mini NB305-N410 netbook, but design differences and the NB305-N310's ability to run Windows XP make this Mini a better choice than the NB305-N410.

Nice big touchpad with two distinct buttons ; Great keyboard with big letter keys

Function keys and Tab key are somewhat small ; A little on the heavy side

The Toshiba Mini NB305-N310 is a professional-looking netbook with a comfortable keyboard and a huge touchpad, but it's not great for watching Web videos on.

Toshiba Mini NB305-N410

The Toshiba mini NB305-N410 netbook carries over many of the qualities that made its predecessor, the mini NB205 so lovable, and it's still the netbook that gives you the most for the least amount of money.

Well designed. Full size keyboard. Laptop-like touchpad and mouse buttons. 3G option available with Best Buy. One of the USB ports can charge peripherals while the system is turned off. Excellent battery life. Keeps the price where it is. Greentech...

Toshiba Mini NB305 Netbook Review

Intel's Atom N270 processor - and the surrounding limitations on specifications - had a lot to answer for: over a year of cookie-cutter netbooks. With the advent of Pine Trail, Intel look to be loosening their grip on the segment a little, at least,...

Toshiba NB305

Let's talk about love. When you love something, you love it for what it is, not what it isn't. We love netbooks; we don't care that they can't really do games, or HD Flash video, or any media encoding to speak of. We know what we want—all-day computing...

Incremental improvements to solid platform; great battery life; sleep-and-charge USB port

Win 7 Starter; no Bluetooth; wonky keyboard (especially space bar); expensive

As a vanilla netbook—one without Nvidia’s Ion netbook gaming platform—the NB305 performs well. It ships in two configurations: a $350 version with Windows XP, a smaller hard drive, and no sleep-and-charge USB port, or the $400 Windows 7 Starter version...

Toshiba NB305 Review

I have been a long standing fan of the Toshiba NB305 series, I actually picked my Mom up the NB305-310 last Christmas, so the updated NB305-440 with the upgraded 1.6 GHz N455 processor seems like a win win situation. I am a fan of the keyboard and the...

The NB305′s 5,400-rpm, 250GB hard drive performed well, copying a 4.97GB folder of multimedia files at a rate of 20.6 MBps, 4.8 MBps faster than average. It booted into Windows 7 Starter Edition in 1 minute and 9 seconds, which is 10 seconds longer...

Toshiba NB305-440 Review

The Toshiba NB305-440 is an updated version of the Toshiba NB305-310 I reviewed back in April so the netbook is very similar to that model that I reviewed favorably; however, this model is updated with a few things that help make it even better...

Intel Atom N455, 1 GB DDR3 RAM, Huge Touchpad, Great Keyboard

No dedicated graphics chipset

Overall I think the Toshiba NB305-440 does everything better than it's predecessor in most places like performance and battery life; however, I would have still liked to see improved graphical performance and a higher resolution screen. The keyboard...

Toshiba NB305 review – most comfortable in its class, but a little pricey

Toshiba NB305 review summary I've always been a fan of Toshiba's netbooks. They offered just the specs the others did, but with some extra features and looks closer to my taste, with none of the glo...

nice matte body (although there's a glossy version too, for “fingerprints lovers”) ; very good build quality ; now only weights 2.6 pounds, making it one of the lightest 10 inch netbooks out there ; good keyboard with chiclet independent keys and a...

display is still glossy, but there’s less glare than on the Acer or Asus devices. Still, it would have been nice to have a matte display ; there’s only a 0.3 MPx camera, so if you care about that, there's room of improvement in this area ; the top...

I’ve always been a fan of Toshiba's netbooks. They offered just the specs the others did, but with some extra features and looks closer to my taste, with none of the glossy parts other netbooks have.
