Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980 review: Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980

Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980

Large screen, great speakers; excellent battery life.

Heavy; massive battery; no Bluetooth.

Good design and some really nice-sounding speakers round out the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980, a very affordable mainstream laptop with excellent battery life for its size.

Toshiba Satellite P305-S8825

The Toshiba Satellite P305-S8825 makes it easy to transition from a desktop to a laptop.

Sleek "Fusion" design. Very inexpensive. Numeric keypad. Generous feature set. 3GB RAM. Discrete graphics.

Weak processor. Needs bigger battery.

Toshiba Satellite P305 review: Toshiba Satellite P305

Stylish new design; charges USB devices, even when off; inexpensive desktop replacement.

Glossy finish attracts fingerprints; way too much bloatware; sleep-and-charge feature is turned off by default.

Toshiba's new 17-inch Satellite P305 is a well-made, inexpensive desktop replacement, but much more powerful laptops are available for just a little more money.

Toshiba Satellite P305D Review

The new Satellite P305D is the latest 17-inch notebook out of Toshiba, offering the new Fusion finish. This notebook is a complete redesign of the older P205D, and gave the much needed updates that made the older notebook feel very outdated. The P305D...

Great keyboard ; Touch sensitive media controls ; Wonderful flush mounted touchpad ; Excellent Harmon/Kardon Speakers

Relatively low performance for a relatively high budget price ; Warm touchpad ; Highly reflective surface

I really love the layout, solid build quality, and features of this notebook, but when only a minor price bump gets you a notebook that can play modern games, it would be wrong not to point you in that direction

Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980

If you want a full-featured laptop that breezes through the majority of computing tasks, then consider the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6980. Due to the massive 12-cell battery, this notebook might be a little too heavy for taking on-the-go. Needless to...

Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8900

The Toshiba Satellite P305D-S8900 is a very powerful, very usable full-size laptop. The full-size keyboard is expansive and the sculptured keys are a joy to use, particularly if you're used to typing on the “chiclet” keys on so many of today's...

Toshiba Satellite P305-S8825

Some days, we almost miss Toshiba's signature battleship gray notebook PCs—the latest look for the company's long-running Satellite series is just a bit too much. After a few hours of use, our Satellite P305-S8825 was covered with fingerprints. And...

Vibrant and bright screen; low price

Horrible battery life and infested with bloatware

Desktop replacement notebooks tend to be big, to support their large screens, and the look and feel of the P305 betray every inch of its bulk. But since desktop replacements rarely leave the desk, that probably won’t be an issue—a good thing, too,...

Great Notebook but a bit heavy to carry. Sunk USBs

Very good sound and excellent quality on the screen. Very good in general.

Heavy and the 2 USB ports on the right side sunk in. Can only be used with thin adapter. I am afraid to open it to fix the USBs or pay a fortune to fix them.

Really good computer.

It is an amazing computer, it is my main, where I write music and do everything on it, I only don't like the touch buttons at the top because the volume gets stuck and becomes deafeningly loud. Overall amazing battery and amazing quality. Pure worth...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

I can't believe this is so cheap

Overall, an excellent computer for the price. Highly recommended!

Fast processor, 4GB Ram, large screen, full keyboard, excellent speakers (for a laptop). Price! I got this thing "somewhere else" for $500. Buy it now

No dedicated VRAM ; oh well, what do you expect at this price? Moderate amount of bloatware to uninstall, but it's nothing like Dell or Compaq. The computer will always be covered with fingerprints. The surface seems to attract them. Small HD
