Toshiba Satellite U845W review: an Ultrabook with a screen size all its own

More Info Toshiba outs Satellite U845W Ultrabook with 14.4-inch, 21:9 display (updated: $999 and up in the US) The Ultrabooks of Computex 2012

Powerful speakers ; Attractive design ; Decent battery life for a 14-inch laptop

Uncomfortable keyboard ; Flaky trackpad ; Display not compatible with most media

The U845W Ultrabook is the first laptop with a 21:9 display, but ultimately its odd, outsized dimensions are more of a nuisance than a boon.

Toshiba Satellite A665D-S6085

The Toshiba Satellite A665D-S6085 makes a great entertainment laptop with its amazing sounding audio, gorgeous-looking display, and Blu-ray drive.

Harmon Kardon speakers dish out delicious-sounding audio. Great-looking display. Blu-ray drive.

Disappointing battery life. Glossy display. Display doesn?t support 1080p playback.

Review Toshiba Satellite S955D-S5150 Notebook

Slimmer, lighter, better? Toshiba has placed their notebooks on a

Thin and lightweight; Good Touchpad; Includes an optical drive; Low noise and heat

Flimsy construction; Weak CPU performance; Restrictive battery life; Frustrating keyboard; Glossy, unremarkable TN display

Where to go, then, if you’re searching for an ultraportable, affordable 15-inch notebook? Options remain unfortunately thin, with HP’s Sleekbook 15z and Lenovo’s IdeaPad S405 receiving mixed reviews as well. It might be worth saving up a bit more and...

Review Toshiba Satellite P845T-S4310 Notebook

Affordable Touchscreen. Throwing in a touch-enabled display on an otherwise standard notebook is becoming common due in part to the touch-focused nature of Windows 8. Is this inexpensive 14-inch touchscreen Satellite a blast to use? ...

Attractive aluminium case ; Good CPU performance ; Sensitive touchscreen ; Large touchpad ; Decent speakers ; HDD and RAM easily accessible

Lid sensitive to pressure ; Keyboard with soft touch and short travel ; Rather slow system performance ; Graphics performance reduced while running on battery ; Some ports not ideally placed for right-handers ; Glossy screen should be brighter for...

At $700, the P845T is one of the least expensive touch-enabled Windows 8 notebooks currently available

Toshiba Satellite C75D

The Toshiba Satellite C75D is an affordable, big screen laptop. It's ideal for those with tight budgets who want a 17" and a big keyboard, but don't need heavy duty computing power. The C75D runs on a 1.5GHz quad core AMD A4-5000M Jaguar APU (APU is...

Big screen, optical drive and a roomy keyboard for a low price

Not a fast machine, display contrast, viewing angles and colors are poor

Toshiba Satellite 1200 Review

Comfortable size, screen, and keyboard, Only $1,349 complete with 802.11b wireless networking -- no need to buy that $100 PC Card

Adequate but relatively sluggish performance, Really should have CD-RW instead of DVD-ROM (or ideally a DVD/CD-RW combo drive)

Other performance benchmarks yield similar results, making the Satellite 1200 the slowest PC we've tested this year. PCMark 2002 putters along with scores of 3,498 (CPU), 1,485 (memory), and 356 (hard disk) -- the last two are downright sluggish -- and...

Toshiba Satellite 5105 Review

Big screen, speedy performance, great sound and graphics, Complete set of ports, nice design touches, even two extra LCDs (front edge and touchpad)

Size relatively bulky; battery life relatively poor, 1,600 by 1,200 resolution almost too high for middle-aged eyes

We expected the combination of 1.7GHz mobile Pentium 4 power and Nvidia's GeForce4 Go 440 to deliver spreadsheet-blasting speed and gameworthy graphics, and we weren't disappointed: The Satellite posted MadOnion.com PCMark 2002 scores of 4,075 (CPU),...

Toshiba Satellite P840 touchscreen notebook

Toshiba's 14in touchscreen notebook has lots of storage space and good performance, but falls short in a few key areas

Stylish ; Lots of storage space ; Good speed ; Comfortable keyboard

Very reflective screen ; Touchpad could be better ; Single-band Wi-Fi ; No SSD

Toshiba's Satellite P840 is an all-purpose laptop with good speed and lots of style. However, it doesn't have what's needed to justify its premium price tag and we think that the build quality of its screen is questionable.
