Velocity Micro Cruz T408

It's no secret that the market for Android tablets is crowded - and getting more so every day. Just ask Samsung, Acer, HTC, Huawei, Lenovo, Pandigital and, oh yes, Verticool. We could keep going, but you get the point: it's a big market out there, one...

Inexpensive ; Speedy for everyday tasks ; Solid build quality

Runs Gingerbread ; No Android Market access ; No rear-facing camera

Review: Velocity Micro Cruz T408 and T410

Velocity Micro — a brand better known for its ultra-pricey, high-end gaming rigs — has produced a $200 Android tablet.

Surprisingly nice design for a budget tablet; very clean, slim, and lightweight. Rock-bottom pricing. Graphics performance is good

Unusable screen. Specs are disappointing, performance is uninspired. Angry Birds would be livid about this battery life. MicroUSB used for connection to a PC or wall power, but no charging over USB

Well-built. Faster than its specs imply

Poor screen. No Google services. No HDMI out

The Velocity Micro Cruz T408 is a decent low-cost tablet ruined by a poor screen and inadequate OS.

Velocity Micro Cruz T408 tablet up for pre-order

Velocity Micro Cruz T408 is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread tablet that offers a bevy of good things. As the name would vaguely hint, the size of the display is a good 8 inches. It runs on a Samsung Cortex A-8 processor, packs 4GB of storage, 512 MB RAM, a...
