Consumer review (newegg.com)

Good value, but has some lackings

For the value, not bad. There isn't much documentation so if you want it to work after you get it, you'll have to be comfortable enough with computers (or know someone who is) to tinker around to get everything to work. Particularly in my case, i had...

Great value when comparing specs, but still glitchy at times ; Not much bloatware which is nice

had some major loading hangs and other big issues when windows updates installed automatically. Thankfully, the restore/backup software worked well to revert past one of the updates. Sort of a plus, but still annoying ; The touchpad is the worst i've...

Almost perfect for me

I find this unit to be the exact unit I was looking for. Vista reports a 2.3of 5 experience index because of the Aero desktop performance. I have not seen why.

As some of the other comments, this unit is quite a good bargin for the $650 price.(included rebate) I was searching for small lightweight unit and it has replaced my pda and Acer laptop. Major plus for me was the lack of installed sw from factory....

Touch pad- could have been a bit better. Left shift key is small(like someone else said) Updated drivers are not easy to find

Great deal you just tweak it a bit! Solutions to some of the annoyances in this review.

The unresponsiveness of the touchpad can be fixed. Go to control panel, mouse properties, pointer options tab, and under motion slide the speed to fast and check the box enhance pointer precision. As for updating the drivers, the previous reviewer who...

It's lightweight, functional, perfect screen size, and a good deal for students. Phone support during their hours is terrific. Their online tech support is even better. I've emailed them with the driver concerns and I've gotten responses within the day...

As other reviewers have mentioned the battery life is a little lacking but that's highly dependant on screen brightness and activity. I get a full two hours of movie viewing and it's almost 3 hours if I'm just surfing the net and typing papers. Also,...

Overall I was definately concerned about a computer from ZT, primarily due to the obscurity of the brand name. But their customer support is excellent & quite rsponsive. Just don't try to enter your serial number on their website to download drivers...

WOW! Asthetically you will not be disappointed when you unwrap this little beauty. The light up ZT emblem on the top is a nice vanity addition. At only 4.3 lbs, it makes the perfect travel companion. They keyboard layout is nice & surprisingly spacious...

I am not really a computer guru. In fact, I don't even know what a firewire port is. I just wanted a small reliable computer I could take to college, troll around the internet, and burn CDs & DVDs. But my biggest complaint is touchpad. Absolutely...

Nice well rounded laptop

Difficulties with the keyboard and touchpad can be overcome with time. Touchpad = replace with a USB mouse(wireless maybe). The only thing that has me worrying is that ZT Systems is a small business in terms of the laptop industry. (Future tech...

Great laptop in my opinion. Doesn't generate much or any heat (considering it is 90-so degree weather here); good plastic frame, not the cheap stuff. Runs smoothly. Decent battery life (2 - 2.5 hrs). Good widescreen. Sweet audio output. Small, light,...

Keyboard is a pain to use. (There is a "|\" key right next to the left shift key, making it smaller and harder to do capitals.) Touchpad is also weak and not sensitive: Double taps = singles taps. I also don't like the allignment of the...

Awesome Value but loaded with problems for me.

I really loved the look of this laptop when I first received it but I spent all of my time trying to get it to work and downloading drivers and firmwares from MSI's extremely confusing site. To find it search for S420(MS-14141) not MS-1024. From what I...

Awesome looking laptop. Build SOLID. Comes with 1x1GB Ram stick rather than 2x512MB for a cheap upgrade. Fast processor(s). Vista Home PREMIUM. Attractive little light and logo behind the screen. Cooling system is silent and efficient. Comes with a...

SpeedStep didn't seem to be working so Cores would never Throttle Down and were constantly running at 125*F at idle and 152*F while working. WLAN was very quirky. Would randomly crash. Sometimes didn't reboot. Vista runs slow when you receive it....

Great Notebook if I could get the Wireless to work

Looking forward to getting my RMA number so I can exchange this unit for one that has a working Wireless LAN in it.

Great value. System is fast when you add the extra 1GB (2GB total), recovery process works like it is supposed to, & System support is great

Wireless LAN dosen't work (it happens - waiting on an RMA number from Newegg). Everytime I called ZT Systems support a technician answered (if you call beteen 9 AM & 6 PM EST)
