90mm f2.8 SP DI Macro 1:1 (Nikon AF D)

Image quality Lightweight (especially when compared to Nikon Micro 105mm) Compact Quick to use I actually prefer the images from this lens to the Nikon: richer colours and somehow less clinical.

Not quite as strongly built as the Nikon (which really is built like a tank) but then has the advantage of being lighter and quicker.

The lens is quite light and has an easy method to go from AF to Manual. It works best in manual focus mode. For shooting macro hand held stopping down to f22 did not produce detectable diffraction when use on my D80. When used from a tripod at bigger...

It hunts about a bit in autofocus mode. The sample I received purchased online, had an initial gritty feel when operating the focus ring, the rear cap was not in place and I had to blow a hair off the back element.

An excellent lens that that produces first class images. Very pleased with the results.
