Canon should supply these caps with all their lenses. Instead they supply side pinch caps that are impossible to get off if you have a hood attached. Some people use Nikon caps on Canon lenses just to get the center pinch. This is a nice alternative...

The one purpose of a lens cap is to stay fixed to the lens except when you need it. Due to this one's convenient design, it pops off when the camera is in the camera bag.

I put this Zeikos rubber lens hood on my 18-55mm VR Nikon kit lens. It screwed on to the 52mm filter thread with no problems. The lens cap still works. The manual focus ring on the 18-55mm VR is not impaired. Zoom and autofocus still work just fine...

Great product for the price and comes in a very useful storage case. Have tried out all the filters and all seem to work as they should. They all fit well to the camera threads, so all in all a very good buy for the price, would highly recommend.

If you have invested in a len's that requires a filter of this size you should get one of these if for no other reason than it will protect your lens, damage this & throw away the filter, damage the lens & throw away the lot !
