Canon 135mm f/2 L USM EF Review Round-Up

The Canon EF 135mm f/2 USM L is a superb lens with outstanding performance figures in all aspects except maybe vignetting at the max. aperture setting (f/2). The mechanical construction is up to pro standards and the AF is as fast as it gets in EOS...

Canon 135mm F/2 L USM

Canon claims this lens as the fastest 135mm prime lens and we can't find a faster one available. So what use is a fast, short telephoto lens. We take a look.

Fast and silent Autofocus; Simple operation; Good optical quality with nice OOF ‘Bokeh

Unusual size filters

A lens of this nature is a reasonably specialised piece of kit. It’s speed, both light gathering and focussing, make it ideal for indoor sport and event work. It also scores highly if you want portraits with OOF backgrounds where the focal length is...

Sharpest lens out there.....

This lens excells in low light conditions, wether indoor for a basketball game or night soccer games. You can really freeze the action and capture the facial expressions of players across the field.

Consistent Output ; Durable ; Easily Interchangeable ; Fast / accurate auto-focus ; Lightweight ; Nice Bokeh ; Rugged ; Strong Construction

Sharp! Sharp! Sharp!

I bought this lens for indoor dog sports with pretty poor lighting. My EF70-200 IS 2.8L zoom was just not fast enough and I was getting too much noise at the higher ISOs with my 40D. Upgraded to the 5D2 and with this lens I can use ISO 3200 without...
