You do not need IS with 2.8.

I wish this lens was weather sealed. Every professional lens should be.

Great lens !

I use this lens for night High school Football I only used for a couple games But I love it High School Basket Ball starts next week I can't wait to take pictures.The Canon is extremely Fast also makes it easy to use.Pitcure quality is Awesome.
