Good telephoto lens.

The lens takes good usable prints about 90% of the time. The L series lenses are clearer but barely. A professional photographer I was read said that the photographer takes the picture, more expensive gear won't make the pics any better!

Price, it is black NOT white, clarity

Front of lens moves during focus

Powerful!

Awesome, durable lens that has done me well for sporting events and outdoor shooting, including of moving vehicles and airshows. Very good lens for me, a beginner photographer at the time.

Canon 0345B002

This not the highest quality lens available but very adequate for intermediate or advanced hobbyist use.

This lens has been very useful so far. The zoom lock is a great idea and a feature that I wish more of my zoom lenses had.

The length of the lens is a bit unwieldy, especially when zoomed to the maximum.

Completely let down

This was part of a big package that newegg offered for this camera and at the time i thought i got a great deal. Now i can see why it was so cheap, The Canon camera it's self is great and the stock lens that comes with it is fine, which tells me its...

When it works the image quality is great and the zoom is fantastic

This telephoto lens has continuously not functioned properly since i began using it. When attached gives me a sensor error "Err 01 Communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts". This thing is BRAND new, there is no way...

Come on, people! Rate it right!

I didn't buy this from Newegg, it came in a kit with my Canon 60D. I didn't even expect to use it (it was kind of a free extra with the purchase) but I am so in love with its performance that it has turned into my primary still shot choice. GET A HOOD...

Excellent alternative to L lenses, and gets an amazing 480mm focal length on APS-C camera bodies. Very sharp, quick autofocus with high accuracy, and needs little manual tweaking. Fairly rugged for a polymer shell. Great low light performance and works...

Other reviewers. If you are rating, you don't take two eggs off because of stock or shipping issues. You are trashing the reputation of a brilliant lens for no fault of Canon! Probably the loudest ultrasonic motor. It is quiet compared to the non-USM...

Decent Lens

Lens lock is for transporting only, but then again no lens creep. This lens is big; a little more than the diameter of a Pringles Can and about 8" long. Works with my CANON T3i but 200-300 focus takes a while, especially in LiveView

This is a 4 Egg Lens* (see cons) Has AF/MF, IS, and USM**. 70-300mm Telephoto Zoom Lens No lens creep.

*I bought it on Black Friday, Tuesday it was out of stock and they dropped it $100. It was back in stock on Thursday. -2eggs for New Egg **USM is pretty loud. Lenses rotate as you zoom and focus.

Extremely Sharp

This is a lens I will never get rid of. Super sharp and all around a great lense. Build quality is excellent. I have had this lense 2 years and It gets very frequent use still no zoom creep. If you buy this lens it will quickly become your favorite....

This Lense is one of canons little hidden gems. It is extremely sharp with excellent contrast and color saturation. I own 5 canon lenses and this is by far the sharpest. I considered buying the canon 70-200 F/4L and borrowed one but the only advantage...

None that I have found and I have had this lense for two years. Its traveled around the country on a 10,000 mile camping trip and it even fell about 5 feet onto a thin carpet floor with no problems.

Excellent lens, great price!

Couple this lens with a T3i, and a Pixma Pro9000 Mark II...you will never need to 'buy' pictures again. Printing with the whole canon system is unbelievable. Prints jump off the paper!

Lens is excellent. Has a good feel to it, and takes very nice and crisp images. I am new to DSLR, but Canon makes it very easy to take outstanding images! I like to take pictures of nature, and with the zoom lens I don't disturb the subject matter....

None that I can tell.
