For me this is a great walkabout lens for my FX camera. I had been using the 50mm f/1.8D, but this lens has better optics and is more versatile, allowing me to mingle street and macro photography. A lot of fun.

Wish it could be an f/2.0 lens. Given the small size of the actual lens, and all the plastic that surrounds it, one wonder if this lens could have been made smaller or with a larger maximum aperture.

Easy to use and the image quality is superb.

A protective filter should be included as standard in my opinion
