unless the lens is very still, it has trouble auto focusing on small objects, so 'searches' a lot, so a tripod is normally needed, but as is well Known, the lens/tripod collar is springy rubbish, so a Kirk replacement is needed, which will set you back...

Nothing at all. Only one recommendation, for serious work you need tripod or monopod.
