I took this to the Country File Live weekend and produced some awesome photographs. It is on the heavy side but still managed to use it both with and without a tripod. Worth every penny spent a marvellous addition to my kit.

I bought this to replace the Sigma 50-500 that I bought 11 years ago. The "Bigma" was my MAIN lens for wildlife & served me well in that time,the only downside was the lack of VR & having to use a beanbag or a monopod all of the time. I've been looking...

My only gripe....albeit small is the Zoom ring which when the tripod collar is attached can feel a bit cumbersome, but that's probably me as I use a Black Rapid strap & attach it to the bottom of the tripod collar to support the weight as I don't want...

Great pictures in good light. Focus is pretty quick. Optical stabilisation is very useful. Pictures are sharp. APS fov equivalent to a 300-750mm

F5.6 max aperture means you need a camera with good Hi ISO performance. Weight prevents lengthy handheld composition, consider a monopod. Spare camera battery a must as the focus motor eats them moving the large heavy glass about.
