I think the way the lens cap is attached to the lens, via a sleeved mount is odd to say the least. If you remove the lens cap from the sleeve, you get a circular image, as the lens is so wide it picks up the mount; and if you remove the cap and sleeve...

A fabulous wide angle lens that does not need to extend out.

Due to the style of hood fitted you cannot place a filter on the front of the lens for protection purposes.
