Fantastic lens, it has not been off my cameras since I bought it. Have used it on me 5 and 7 with equally good results on both. Sony please bring out more lenses of this quality for the nex cameras. It is a go everywhere lens and good in all light...

Renders and very pleasant image. Pretty sharp throughout the field at all but the widest apertures, where the corners soften a little. Not at all bad wide open. Feels high quality, all metal body, with very smooth focus ring action and quality metal...

Chromatic aberration could be better controlled for a lens of this cost, though this is mostly not a problem unless shooting wide open and in bright contrasty conditions. stop down and CA becomes perfectly acceptable. Quite large, same size as kit...

Very sharp. Very versatile. It does stand to a professional standard comparable to any professional 35mm in full frame cameras.

It looks like Sony will only make one Zeiss for NEX. I would like to see the same lineup given to the A mount (24, 50, 85) in fast lenses (f2 or brighter) so the NEX line can truly replace my other DSLR equipment.
