Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2

The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens is a minor update to one of the rare, stabilized ultra-wide zooms, but it doesn't pair well with the highest-resolution cameras.

Bright f/2.8 aperture. Optical stabilization. Ultra-wide angle of view. Full-frame compatibility. Fluorine coating and all-weather build.

Only sold in Canon and Nikon mount. Bulky. Image quality suffers on high-resolution sensors. Heavy barrel distortion. Nikon version doesn't support rear filters.

Bottom Line: The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens is a minor update to one of the rare, stabilized ultra-wide zooms, but it doesn't pair well with the highest-resolution cameras.

Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD

The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD is an ambitious, ultra-wide zoom lens with a fixed f/2.8 aperture and image stabilization, but like most lenses of this type, it shows significant distortion.

Sharp. Optically stabilized. Maximum f/2.8 aperture throughout zoom range. Integrated lens hood. Ultra-wide field of view. Close focus capability. Available for Canon, Nikon, and Sony systems.

Lots of distortion. Bulky. No filter support. Some flare issues.

Conclusion The Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD is a strong contender for your dollar if you're in want of an ultra-wide zoom lens for a Canon, Nikon, or Sony SLR. It sets itself apart from the competition with an image stabilized design and a maximum...

Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2

What We Love: The constant F/2.8 aperture on this lens was our favorite feature. It performs well in less-than-ideal lighting scenarios and the image stabilization only sweetens that performance. It is also very sturdy and has an impressive six-year...

Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD SP Review

Tamron's produced a compelling lens for those who are interested in ultra-wide angle photography, and it's priced competitively. However, there are a couple of notes to consider here.

Olympus 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO M.Zuiko Review
