Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD Review

Long zoom for wide angle and telephoto imaging ; Works with full-frame and APS-C sensor models ; All-weather construction with fluorine coating ; 1:3 macro focus ; Sized well for travel

Only available for Sony systems ; Reliant on in-camera stabilization ; Uncorrected Raw shots exhibit distortion and vignette

The Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD is a full-frame zoom lens with a big 7.1x ratio. Its quality build and optics offer plenty of appeal for enthusiasts and pros looking for a one-lens solution.

Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD Lens Review

With the Di III lens lineup, Tamron has been impressing, repeatedly delivering lenses with excellent image quality, wide aperture openings, light weight, compact size, quality AF systems, classy designs, and low prices being especially notable. Some of...

Tamron 28-200mm f2.8-5.6 Di III RXD review

Excellent travel credentials and all-round performance: the Tamron 28-200mm f2.8-5.6 Di III RXD is one super superzoom

Compact and lightweight ; Relatively fast aperture rating ; Impressive image quality for a superzoom lens

No optical image stabilization ; Comparatively limited wide-angle potential

There are several own-brand 18-135mm or 18-140mm superzoom lenses for APS-C format cameras on the market, from a variety of camera manufacturers. With an ‘effective’ zoom range of around 28-200mm in full-frame terms, they tend to be fairly compact,...

Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Zoom Lens for Sony Mirrorless Review

Tamron recently released a fast, super-compact 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 zoom lens for Sony mirrorless full-frame E-mount cameras. Unique among all-in-one type zooms because the maximum aperture is f/2.8 (at the wideangle 28mm setting) the lens has other...

Tamron AF28-200MM F/3.8-5.6 XR Aspherical (IF) Macro

Sharp, contrasty, small for such a large zoom factor (it's the same length as the Canon EF-S 18-55mm). Solidly built, no lens creep yet and if it becomes a problem, there's a zoom lock. Nice bokeh! Nice lens hood too!

Hunts a bit in low light and close focus, but this is really my own fault. Gets a bit less sharp wide open.
