Dazled

I picked up a Tamron 90mm Macro F 2.8 a week back and I was truly dissappointed to see the aperture change to F5.6 at close range.

1.Good sharpness. 2.Good flash reproduction.3.Good pricing

1.No F2.8 aperture control trhough the focus range.2. No VR or IS in the lens

Favorite lens in my bag

This lens takes incredible macro/close-up photography. Also great for portraits. Makes beautiful out of focus backgrounds while the subject is tack sharp.

Great lens

Auto focus can seem a little slow in low contrast situations

This is NOT an F2.8 lens

A few words of caution to all would be buyers of this 'fast', super, reasonably priced lens.....

Supersharp, super-lens as photozone.de tests say

All the above review comments re f2.8-f5.6 (unless I missed something)

Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP Macro for Nikon

This Tamron is a great lens. I use it for both portrait work and macro work. I'm using it on a Nikon D100. I have also used it on a Nikon film body.

Very Sharp Great portrait lens Great Bokeh Very nice manual focusing Beautiful macro

Using flash with matrix metering on D100 quirky Doesn't have a heavy metal feel

Close-up For Tamron

In my increasing world of photography, I need lenses to do specific jobs, a 28-200mm lens for general use, a wide-angle zoom for interiors, a 50mm standard lens for backup and a macro lens for close-up photography.

Superb optical quality, lightening fast autofocus, low price

Plastic feel to construction

Can't get any closer

I bought this lens primarily for use as a portrait lens. I liked its shallow depth of field. While I have found it to be pretty good in the portrait category; I found its greatest virtue to be its close up abilities. I am able to focus about an and...

A Great Macro Lens

The Tamron 90mm/2.8 Macro Lens is an excellent lens for both macro photography as well as an all-purpose lens. Costing under $400 this lens rivals the equivalent lenses made by Canon and Nikon while costing less than half the price. If you have ever...
