Save Your Money

Buy a manufacturers product that will work

None

Plastic strip broke while assemblying, used tape to hold it together. USB not recognized on Windows 7 or Vista. Initialized and formatted brand new Samsung 250 GB SATA drive, again USB device not recognized

Good idea shame it does not work

If this unit worked and played the files it promised it would be a fantastic value. I recommend saving the $ and buying something different.

Small package, lots of output standards

The unit will not play a complete movie. Argosy has been reviewing the problem since April and they don't respond except to tell me that tech support hasn't gotten had a chance to review the problem

Works pretty good - Continued

When formatting your hard drive make it a Primary Partitian, not a Logical Partitian. That is in the instructions, but I took way to long to find it.

Now that I have my 1.5T hard drive installed there are less cords in the way, and more movies

Stalls sometimes

Works pretty good

About to install a 1.5T hard drive. After reading other comments I am going to fit a case fan to the enclosure.

Plays most of my movies just fine. A few of them cause it to become none responsive and a few would not work at all. The audio and video were out of sync on two movies

Occasionally stalls

Don't waste your money.

Cost too little to bother returning. I just tossed it in the trash. Such a shame to waste landfill space on this junk.

I thought it would be a cheap alternative to the WD TV box. Well, it was cheap

Never did get it to work. Displayed a screen, then locked up. Never got it to playback even one file

Decent Media Player

-Does not play MKV -Does not play high-def divx -Will be useless as a media player once remote is broken/lost.

Easy to install/understand...and for the price-absolutely no complaints

However, IDX/SUB does not work for me (1/2 an egg). Also when outputting through HDMI to my Optama HD65 projector, the screen only displays in purple and no other color {it's not the projector because other components works perfectly using the Optama's...

Video failing

You can fry an egg on this thing when running a 7200rpm drive. Haven't tested 5400 but other posts say it just gets warm. There is NO form of venting/exhaust on this case

Cheap, plays what it says it does, lots of language support

I bought a Argosy HV372T in early March and installed a Western Digital 500Gb drive formatted with NTFS. Using the USB port I loaded up a bunch of movies and the player worked well for just over a month. This week, the RCA video has failed, although...

Not a bad value

I have a large number of random format video files that until now have only been viewable from my computer using my trusty VLC player which can handle just about any format I throw at it. Unfortunately this media player wasn't compatible with as many...

This thing works great with ISOs, DVD folder, and most AVIs. I especially like the bundled software which lets you lock video files with a passwor4-digit password, hiding them from the main menu until you key it in. It's also nice having DVD player...

It would be awesome if there was support for more formats, MKV and WMV. Though to be fair, Argosy doesn't claim to have support for those formats. I also had a number of AVI and MP4 formatted videos that couldn't be read. The Playlist manager is a...

not quite what I expected

spend the extra money for a MediaGate or Popcorn Hour. I have 2 Mediagates and me freinds did not want to spend the $250 for them, this was the low cost alternative. My recommendation, spend the money, or at least do not get this product.

it does play movies

pause, ff, rew only work in DVD titles. Once you start a Divx or Xvid movie you can only stop by pulling the power cord. Would not find or play music files. Tried basic 128K unprotected MP3 and the player would not even find it. Very little support...

Mixed Feelings

We enjoy the convenience of this, slip a show onto USB and plug it in. Plays beautifully, just wish we weren't HD shy on this unit. Burned (literally) once and hesitant to try another internal for more capacity.

Price was nice at 49.99, compact unit, works with all my media files so far on USB Flash sticks

Unit is compact but could use a better base as it can be knocked over easily. HEATS UP big time! Fried a 1TB HD I had installed. Once a HD is in there are no openings for air and definitely nothing for cooling this unit. Inconvenient on off button on...
