Google TV Streamer 4K Review: Smooth Streaming

The long-lived Chromecast has evolved into this plug-and-play streamer with Dolby Vision support and smart home controls.

Easy setup. Button to find remote. Dolby Vision support. Works as a Thread router for smart home devices. Decent voice search. Virtually every app is available. Built-in cast for easy streaming.

Somewhat large. HDMI cable not included. No backlit remote. No Wi-Fi 7 support.

The Google TV Streamer is so good that I won't ever miss the Chromecast

Google may have had to kill off the Chromecast line, but during my Google TV Streamer review, I found it easy to see why it did.

Affordable ; More RAM and more storage ; Great new processor ; Google Home integration ; New, better remote ; Thread/Matter baked-in

No expandable storage ; No HDMI cable in box ; Only two colors
