It seems like a construction defect but I find that most things I liquify end up leaking out from between the base and the pitcher. I pretty much avoid using it for this reason.

This juicer is fine if you are squeezing one or two fruit, however as it is not self emptying you have to stop and empty the container every time it fills which is quite a nuisance, especially as the container does not hold very much.

This is a handy little item for certain things like veggies, french fries etc. I found it will not hold the temp. hot enough for chicken or breaded pork, also not good for frozen foods like shrimp or fish sticks.
