Very poor design

Had ours for several years, only for making smoothies/power shakes. Since day one we smelt the ozone smell, mainly on highest speed (ice crushing). Biggest problem is the extreme difficulty we've had trying to get the rubber gasket to seal properly...

sunbeam multiblender

I bought it for my husband, tried it out for myself I now use it more than he does. It makes the best smoothies, blends lots of other things, should have bought one a long time ago. I have bought one for my daughter and she loves it just as much, great...

easy to use, love the glass jug, easy to clean.

Absolute disappointment

I recently purchased this blender for my wife and watching her frustration as she contends with its inadequacy is very disappointing. The machine just doesn't blend above the cutters requiring constant stopping and prodding the carrots and pumpkin in...

Nothiong

It simply does not blend in an efficient manner and requires constant assistance

Don't buy this blender!

Although this blender works fine...the design is very poor. After only a few uses mine started to grow mould in between the base and the glass. I know a few other people on here have had the same issue. You can't detach the grey base blade unit from...

Not happy at all

The blender went “poof” and started smoking while trying to add bananas, ice cream and milk to make a banana smoothie. All I could see was smoke and the smell of burning rubber. I had only used it a few times. As it was a Sunbeam I expected it to live...

Solid jug and good controls

It blew up after only a few uses

Up in smoke

Our blender just stopped and went up in a lot of smoke while trying to blend banana with cream! Thought it would have handled that mix with ease. The house smelled like burning and cancer. Other than that, its was a good blender with a solid jug and...

Solid glass jug

The smoke escaped out of the motor and wasnt able to put it back in. When the smoke leaked out it stopped working, so I can only assume that its the smoke that makes it work?

Unsanitary!

The fact that the plastic base cannot be detached from the glass container should be a sign that this design was not well thought out. I have found it impossible to get at the residue which collects between the plastic base and the glass. As I use this...

Impossible to clean all surfaces - environment for potentially harmful bacteria.

Very disappointing

I purchased my blender for the purpose of making curry paste. I am extremely disappointed with it as it only blends a really small amount - level with the blades only. Anything more than this doesn't blend, even after adding quite a bit of liquid. It...

As above! I chose sunbeam because of the brand name, but won't in future

Poor performer

Right from the start this blender has performed poorly for an appliance with an 800W motor. It's fine with thin liquids and crushing ice. Using it for more than a few seconds at a time though produces an ozone-like smell -- a sign of a motor under...

Poorly performing motor. Bad blade design.

Anyone else had this experience?

I bought this model last month, August 2013. After a while my son said he smelled burning so he turned the base around and found that the motor "sparked" when pulsing or blending. So we took it back to Briscoes and got another one on 06.09.2013....

Blends very well

Motor sparks when in use
