Acer HN274H bmiiid

The Acer HN274H bmiiid has everything you need to bring 3D imagery to your desktop, but you'll pay a premium for the privilege.

Good 3D depth. Sharp image detail. Solid dark grayscale and color performance. Three HDMI ports. Glasses included.

Pricey. Narrow viewing angles. Some crosstalk.

Acer HN274H Review

Acer's HN274H is remarkable. Not only is this 27-inch display the first to incorporate the 3D Vision IR emitter into the display itself, but it also has HDMI 1.4a—so it's capable of being used with a Blu-ray deck or PlayStation 3—and a WLED backlight....

3D Monitor Shoot-Out: Acer HN274H & ViewSonic V3D245

There's no question about it: 3D technology is HOT right now. Whether you're ready to hop on the bandwagon or just want to keep on top of what's out there, there are two new monitors that should be on your radar, the Acer HN274H and ViewSonic V3D245....

Built-in emitters ; Glasses included ; 3D technology works with more than 525 games ; Plenty of ports on the Acer HN274H ; Latest 3D technology

Costly ; Acer HN274H takes a while to wake from sleep ; ViewSonic V3D245 base has a sizeable footprint ; No height and pivot controls on either monitor

If you're looking to upgrade to a 3D capable, 120Hz display, a monitor with an embedded 3D emitter and the latest 3D Vision technology from NVIDIA will appeal to you. For now, the Acer HN274H and ViewSonic V3D245 are two of the better options. Although...

Acer HN274H 27-inch 120Hz 3D Monitor Review

If you have ever sat with friends and discussed hypothetical situations, a question about what current technological marvel would you bring back in time as a means to shock and awe would eventually crop up. The uncreative answer usually involves...

3 HDMI 1.4 ports ; Built-in NVIDIA 3D Vision IR emitter on the bezel ; Excellent colors for a TN panel ; LED Backlight ; Single button Display input switch ; Built-in Speaker ; No ghosting on top and bottom edges while in 3D mode ; Excellent 2D and 3D...

OSD 3D notification would be better if it was smaller and if the "option to skip" text did not popup every time

It is 2011 and 3D is alive and well with the amount of manufacturers and software offering support growing constantly. It is also nice to see Acer with a new 3D monitor which blows away their previous model in terms of performance. Despite having a...

Acer HN274H 3D monitor

Can't decide whether to invest in a 3DTV? Acer's HN274H, a 27-inch PC monitor that uses an active shutter 3D system might be the perfect stop gap. Best used in a bedroom where a PC monitor and a TV screen will be one and the same, Acer's HN274H is...

Versatility, contrast in 3D images, smooth 3D performance, multiple HDMI slots, lightweight 3D glasses

Weak speakers, cost

Best used in a bedroom where a PC monitor and a TV screen will be one and the same, Acer's HN274H is well-connected and makes both an excellent desktop upgrade and a great option if a 3DTV would be too much of a stretch.

Unreliable

Don't bother with 3D. Sure it's cool, but after the novelty factor wears off, you'll stop using it in favor of non-3d gaming. 120Hz really doesnt make as much difference as people claim. Don't believe the hype. Instead of wasting money on a 3d monitor,...

120 Hz ; Beautiful ; Big ; 3D works great

Monitor burned out with less than a year of use. Was very well cared for, never overheated. Acer only has a repair facility in ONE US state. I had to send it all the way there, and it cost me about a hundred dollars in shipping costs. Very unreliable...

Colors were washed out but I was able to fix that. Buttons take a lot of practice to use

120hz and 3d ready

Had a 27in asus that broke on me and i prefer the picture quality of this monitor

At $300 its the best deal i could find on a 1080p 120hz 3d monitor. And a drop of $350 in price is nice

None so far, maybe the speakers are not the best but really who's gonna use monitor speakers if there getting a 120hz monitor for gaming, stick to my 7.1 setup

Great 3D monitor, works with AMD

with 3d TriDef, to get this monitor to work, you need HDMI, just run the monitor as a standard display type 3d stereo 60/120hz. beautiful.

This is a great monitor for the price, it cannot be beat compared to other active shutter 3D monitors that actually work with AMD cards. It comes decently calibrated, only needed some minor adjustments. 120hz 2D 1080p works only on DVI-D for those...

It does not support 3D 1080p at 60hz for AMD gaming at this time because hdmi 1.4a is limited to 720p 60hz(each eye) at the moment(hopefully fixed with firmware soon), this was expected though. The touch screen buttons are more to be desired, very...

Quick Initial thoughts...

Guess I need to do some reading about HDMI in use for monitors. CCC treats is like a HDTV. I can't speak to the Nvidia 3D aspect, I'll probably borrow a card from a friend just to try it, but it was not a reason for me to buy this panel.

Normally I'd wait a bit longer but I wanted to comment in regards to the guy who was asking about getting it to 120hz and the scaling ; Monitor is quite sleek, base is solid as well as the panel its self. Packaging is very good, no worries about...

The 'touchscreen' buttons on the panel to adjust monitor settings are, annoying at best. Cool idea but they are quite finicky. That's my only beef in regards to construction ; Now for the other issue, 120hz and scaling. (I'm running a Radeon HD 7850) I...
