The AOC U2879VF is a 28-inch monitor that offers AMD's FreeSync technology and delivers a sharp Ultra-High-Definition picture. It's reasonably priced, but suffers from narrow viewing angles and middling color and grayscale performance.

Affordable. Sharp 4K image. AMD FreeSync enabled.

Narrow viewing angles. Middling grayscale and color performance. No USB ports. Tilt-only stand.

Conclusion The AOC U2879VF won't wow you with features and aesthetics, but it gives you a sharp 4K picture without depleting your bank account. Additionally, its fast pixel response and FreeSync anti-tearing technology provide good gaming performance...

A 28-inch TN screen is the cheapest way to put Ultra HD on the desktop. Today, we're looking at a new example from AOC: the U2879VF. It includes FreeSync for gaming enthusiasts and a factory calibration for the professional user.

FreeSync • Cheap Ultra HD • Accurate color without calibration • Decent viewing angles • Good build • HDMI 2.0

This 4K monitor gives you eight million reasons to be happy

Very low price for a 28-inch monitor ; FreeSync technology ; Impressive colour accuracy ; Picture-in-Picture

No speakers ; No VESA mount ; No portrait mode

You can't go wrong with this display. 4K has come of age and the AOC U2879VF is probably its best exponent right now.

Choose this over samsung or high end options

 

Ordered this monitor on a whim, I usually get ASUS or Samsung, but this on arrival was packaged nicely, no dead pixels,came with all cables needed. Colors look great, response time is amazing, playing Battlefield 4 looks incredible compared to...

4K display, amd freesync..... at this price.

How could their be a con with all of these features

Great Value.

 

-The visuals, and everything are great. -It was an easy setup, just plug and play.

Only thing I am having a problem with is my computer only detects the hdmi cord for visuals, but not for sound. I don't know if its the monitor or my computer though. Does it matter that I have a Nvidia graphics card?

Amazing 4k when on sale

 

I got this monitor for $330 and it was a must have at that price. With FreeSync 4k @ 60hz is amazing. Should be future proof for quite a few years. If you can get this on sale, buy it.

- 28" is a good size for 4k - 4k@60hz with DisplayPort - AMD FreeSync - Best 4k for the price - 1ms response time - 10 bit color

- Wish it was IPS or OLED - Only 1 DisplayPort - Can't adjust height (only tilt) - No speakers

Wasn't satisfied.

 

-Cheap $ for 4k monitor -Has Freesync -Thin design and nice looking stand

-Washed out images/text. I played with the menu settings and still couldn't get it right. Almost as if there is a slight blur/white over everything. I ended up buying the Samsung UD590 4k 28" TN Monitor and love the difference. The Samsung produces...

Best 4k for the price

 

This is by far the best 28" 4k monitor for the price currently (April 2016). Really wish it was IPS, but at 4k@60hz w/ FreeSync, that's only nitpicking. I also wish the bezel was thinner, but still a good looking monitor.

- 28" is a good size for 4k - 4k@60hz with DisplayPort - AMD FreeSync - Best 4k for the price - 1ms response time

- Wish it was IPS - Only 1 DisplayPort - Can't adjust height (only tilt)
