Asus PA246Q review: Asus PA246Q

Asus PA246Q

The ; has terrific performance with vibrant colors in games and movies. Its robust OSD offers detailed customization options and a unique overlay feature that provides extra graphical precision. Lastly, the monitor has full ergonomic support and a...

The PA246Q's powerful backlight prevents really deep blacks from being attained, and there's a consistent color imperfection that gives most images a slight reddish hue. More connection options would have been useful.

The Editors' Choice Award-winning Asus PA246Q is a professional-class monitor with a satisfying number of features at an affordable price.

Asus PA246Q

The PA246Q uses a P-IPS (Professional In-Plane Switching) panel, a relatively new addition to the IPS family of panels that is capable of displaying 1.07 billion colors. The 24-inch panel has a native resolution of 1,920-by-1,200 with a 16:10 aspect...

Excellent wide gamut performance. Loads of connectivity ports. Highly adjustable stand

Grayscale performance could be better. Does not automatically rotate screen image

The Asus PA246Q is a 24-inch IPS monitor that delivers professional grade performance and a robust feature set at a reasonable price.

ASUS PA246Q 24" ProArt Monitor: No Adjustments Needed?

Our monitor reviews frequently go into a lot of depth about the results before and after calibration, but for many users this won't matter, as they aren't going to purchase the calibration hardware and software necessary to achieve these results....

There is no overdrive or game mode on the PA246Q, as it is targeted at graphics and design with gaming as something you might do in your spare time. Despite that, it does reasonably well with just over a frame of lag from our measurements. There is a...

ASUS PA246Q Review

ASUS PA246Q offers a really good value at the price of Rs. 29,000 especially since it is a professional grade monitor, which generally cost much higher. The image quality is top notch, HD movie viewing experience is quite good except for the minor...

Exhaustive tweaking options in OSD, 1920x1200 pixels, Sturdy stand with tilt, swivel and pivot mechanism

Best monitor for photo/video editing

It's hard to think of a $500 monitor as a bargain but, reviewers say, compared to monitors with similar features for high-end photography and graphics applications, the 24-inch Asus PA246Q ProArt LCD widescreen display gives you a huge amount ...

Accurate color, bright, crisp images, great detail in both very light and very dark colors, good response times and performance, unique onscreen grid to measure your art

Light black levels, unimpressive contrast ratio, built-in sound is anemic

Asus PA246Q ProArt 24-Inch LCD Monitor Review

When we heard Asus was coming out with a P-IPS display, we were a bit taken aback at the thought of Asus getting into the high end monitor game. But as the old cliche goes, there's a first time for everything, and the PA246Q ProArt 24-inch LCD monitor...

10-bit panel ; 3D Look Up Tables (LUT) ; Exceptional color accuracy ; Handy on-screen grids ; Lots of connectivity options

It's thick, but not heavy ; Looks rather plain, unless you're into the racing stripe motif

Asus' PA246Q is the second monitor we've reviewed since adding DisplayMate to our suite of tests, which is both brutal and unapologetic when it comes to pointing out even the smallest flaws. But as we saw with NEC's PA271W, the PA246Q was more than up...

ASUS PA246Q - Caters to a Different Audience

ASUS is known best for its PC components and peripherals, and have also ventured into other areas such as notebooks and tablets.

The ASUS PA246Q is aimed at a completely different audience. It’s made for the graphics designers fraternity. The PA246Q is in many ways impressive. It renders colours beautifully, but not necessarily, accurate. The PA246Q has a wide variety of...

Asus PA246

At AU$699, the PA246 offers great value. We're concerned, though, by the colour shift in the inversion pixel walk test in some colour presets.

Six axial colour calibration allows for fine tuning. IPS means better viewing angles. Decent stand. Good interlaced performance over HDMI.

Manual calibration will take forever thanks to no ability to plug a colorimeter directly into the monitor. Bizarre purple colouration in Lagom.nl pixel walk tests when using the user profile. Pixel policy could be better for a professional monitor.

At AU$699, the PA246 offers great value. We're concerned, though, by the colour shift in the inversion pixel walk test under some colour profiles, and proper calibration will take a long time thanks to a lack of hardware automation.

Asus PA246Q review

There are three distinct reasons to be excited about the Asus PA246Q. One, it's the first monitor we've had the opportunity to calibrate using a new tool (some details below); two, it's the first 24-inch-plus monitor with a high-end P-IPS panel we've...
