HP W2408h review: HP W2408h

HP W2408h

Stylish design; great movies and games performance; includes useful ambient light sensor.

No DVI port; no DVI-to-HDMI cable; color not as accurate as some competitors; poor speaker placement and quality; no screen rotation

The HP w2408h True Color Widescreen is a well-priced 24-inch monitor that looks stylish and performs well. Its lack of a DVI port is its only major stumbling block.

HP w2408

The HP w2408 is a large widescreen monitor that delivers brilliant colors but offers a limited range of A/V ports.

Good overall image quality. Very good horizontal viewing angle performance. Highly adjustable stand.

Has trouble reproducing the brightest and darkest shades of gray. Lacks additional A/V ports. Vertical viewing angle is weak.

HP W2408

It's easy to be seduced by the sheer size of a 24-inch LCD screen—any display that big just looks like it means business. And there was a time when large LCD panels were almost exclusively high-performance parts. That's no longer the case. As the...

Chic design; plenty of ergonomic adjustments and user controls; tons of USB and video ports; HDCP

Glare-y screen; some greyscale banding and color-tracking problems

But despite all the features in its favor, the w2408’s performance failed to win us over. The glossy 1920x1200 screen really enhances movies and games, and we didn’t notice visual anomalies in either circumstance, but a couple issues reared their heads...

The HP w2408h is an excellent monitor that's suited to graphics or gaming, but it has its flaws and competitors offer more for your money.

Excellent colour, Great image quality, Portrait mode

Some minor design issues, Light leakage, Text quality

HP w2408h Monitor Review - A Top 24" Monitor with a Great Price Tag

The HP w2408h is one of the most cost effective monitors of 2008. But with such a fantastic price tag, can it deliver the same stunning visual performance as the 24" Dell UltraSharp or LG Flatron, and as such, can it break into the class of 'best...

Doesn't quite justify its cost but it's a must-have for those that are particular about colour accuracy.

HP W2408H 24-Inch Monitor

HP's latest 24-inch monitor, the W2408H, stands out from the crowd with a versatile stand that allows both height and swivel adjustments, and the monitor screen can be rotated 90 degrees to switch between landscape (widescreen) and portrait...

The HP's overly vivid color palette will impress some and disappoint others. But, the set's gray scale (white point) is actually fairly good, maintaining a mostly neutral color temperature from the darkest grays all the way up to peak white. The...

Hewlett-Packard w2408 monitor Review and Prices

The Hewlett-Packard w2408 is an attractive 24-inch widescreen LCD display that uses a glossy screen to produce eye-popping images.

Review: HP w2408 24″ LCD Display

As the price of LCDs has dropped larger models have become much more accessible to non-professional users. Back when 24″ models first arrived, they cost well over a thousand dollars and were aimed solely at professionals who needed all that space and...

HP w2408h 'Vivid Color' 24in Monitor

Can HP's latest 24in display set the market alight?

HP's w2408h offers a wealth of attractive features, such as HDMI with HDCP, pivot, height adjustment, rotation, four USB ports and speakers. It may not break any records in the picture quality stakes but the image quality is still decent, and unless...
