LG Flatron L1710S

This inexpensive, basic LCD is a good choice for someone who doesn't demand a lot from a display.

Decent color and text quality; inexpensive; stable.

Unpublished defective-pixel policy; no speakers; no DVI interface; no height adjustment.

If you haven't made the jump to a DVI graphics card and you don't need special features such as Landscape-to-Portrait pivot, this budget 17-inch LCD might be right for you.

LG Flatron L1710S

Columbus was wrong after all: The world is flat-at least as far as displays are concerned. Flat plasma panels, rear-projection displays, LCDs, and even flat-faced CRTs are taking over at the office and at home. And if you're buying a new monitor for a...

Comes with color calibration utility. Preset configurations for different applications. Good on-screen menu

Limited viewing angle range. Only one year warranty on backlight. Fair light gray performance

WHAT'S HOT: LG Electronics' silver L1710B offers analog and digital video inputs at a competitive price--$500 at the time of our tests. It's less expensive than competing models with similar features. The monitor has two downstream USB 1.1 ports built...

In our informal assessment, the L1710B had among the widest viewable angles of the monitors we've seen, making it a good choice for desktop presentations

Good colors and an inexpensive price are the hallmarks of this 17-inch LCD.

Though it lacks the high style of more-expensive panels, this competitively priced panel offers wider viewing angles than most and displays crisp text and natural-looking colors.

Mini-Review: LG Electronics L1710S and L1910B LCD displays

Flat is where it's at, and I recently had a chance to test out two of LG Electronics new FLATRON gaming LCDs. The 17-inch L1710S and the behemoth 19-inch L1910B are both active matrix TFT display monitors that claim to be designed for gaming. Gaming?...

ANOTHER AWESOME DEAL

Arrived 2 days before projected. No dead pixels. Base is larger than some but it has no power brick like those, instead the transformer is in the monitor case behind the screen. That may account for why the base is a little larger. But, it just has a...
