LG Ultra Slim L1981Q

The folks at LG set out to design an LCD that would differentiate them from the rest of the crowd, and the Ultra Slim 1981Q does just that. Sporting a thin black bezel with a silver trim, a white glossy casing and swivel arm, and a round chrome base...

Supports pivot mode. Digital and analog inputs

Noticeable backlight bleeding. Weak viewing-angle performance

The LG 1981Q is a stylish 19-inch LCD monitor with a fast pixel-response time. Several noticeable flaws, however, detract from an otherwise well-designed display.

LG Flatron L1981Q

With only average performance, the LG Flatron L1981Q's best attributes are its sleek design, slim screen, and flexible positioning.

Attractive design; easy to pivot between Landscape and Portrait orientation; analog and digital inputs; includes wall- or arm-mount bracket; excellent text display.

No horizontal swivel; limited height adjustability; problems with color uniformity and brightness.

Though better-performing monitors exist, the LG Flatron L1981Q will meet the basic needs of style-conscious consumers.

LG Electronics Flatron L1981Q Monitor

LG's $499 Flatron L1981Q refines the design of the Flatron L1980U while retaining the auto-pivot and auto-mirror functions that made its predecessor unique. The screens received very similar scores on our tests, with the L1981Q earning a rating of Very...

Automatic screen pivot Lovely design

Heat-sensitive buttons can be awkward

More-successful examples of the L1981Q's hands-off philosophy lie in the automatic pivot and automatic mirror functions of the included ForteManager software. With these functions enabled, the screen image automatically pivots or flips to match the...

Beautiful

No dead pixels, amazing level of brightness, and a beautiful, digital display from my outdated Radeon 9600XT. It was a very big change from my old 19" CRT (which weighs about 5-6x as much as this). The odd buttons take a bit to get used to, but you do...

This monitor is INSANE

This monitor is amazing. It's so beautiful I almost blew a load when I opened the box. Ordered Monday, arrived Tuesday. Well, as I was setting it up I accidentally tilted it a bit, and the panel started to rotate with respect to the base. I thought I...

LG L1981Q Black-Silver 19" 8ms LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 500:1

I bought 2 of these using in dual-screen with a 6 year old radeon 9000, found in my closet. Biggest relief is that they both came with no dead pixels. DVI looks perfect and VGA works fine when watching movies or doubling as a secondary desktop. To fix...

This is my second LCD monitor I had this year, the 17" Samsung 172x, was a great slim monitor I got from New Egg that I gave to my brother as a gift since he loves this stuff. First thing you notice out of the box is the design, I can say that this is...
