Philips Brilliance MultiView (298P4QJEB)

The Philips Brilliance MultiView (298P4QJEB) is a stylish, 29-inch, ultra-wide In-Plane Switching (IPS) monitor that delivers good gray scale and viewing angle performance and is loaded with features.

Good gray scale and viewing angle performance. Robust colors. Generous feature set.

Pricey. Slightly saturated greens. Tinny speakers.

Conclusion Solid performance, pleasing aesthetics, and a robust feature set are all good reasons to consider the Philips Brilliance MultiView (298P4QJEB) if you're in the market for an ultra-wide monitor. Its 29-inch AH-IPS panel delivers good shadow...

Extra wide screen. Perfect for media editing and creation. Plug and play. Great connectivity due to number of ports available. Pivoting action, 90 degrees, for when you need to display code or something similar to avoid having to scroll down.

Buttons for the physical monitor settings such as brightness take some getting use to, not intuitive enough. Wobbly display holder (the bit that connects the screen to the stand), maybe too wide for it.

Great screen. Better than two separate monitors Multiple inputs avoids separate KVM (just use USB switch instead) Automatically detected in Windows and Linux with NVIDIA Drivers

Setting it up in Linux (with Intel HD 3000) required a bit more effort. Here is the modline you need: Modeline "2560x1080_60" 181.25 2560 2608 2640 2720 1080 1083 1093 1111 +hsync -vsync
