New C-PVA Solutions: Samsung SyncMaster F2080 and F2380

According to Samsung, C-PVA matrix is only 10% more expensive than TN-matrixes that have taken over the market these days. However, it is way better in terms of viewing angles and overall image quality.

The SyncMaster F2080 and SyncMaster F2380 have the following highs:

Samsung SyncMaster F2080 - 20in LCD Monitor

Can Samsung really offer a 20in LCD with a high-quality PVA panel for the price of a high-end TN?

Offering quality that's in a whole other ballpark to displays based on TN panels but at only a slight premium, the Samsung F2080 with its 'cPVA' panel is quite simply one of the best monitors available for its £173 asking price - both in terms of image...

Samsung SyncMaster F2080 review

A quality PVA monitor at under £200 is almost too good to resist

PVA panel ; Cheap considering the price of some others

Odd resolution

A quality PVA panel that is made all the more sweet when you look at the price tag

Samsung SyncMaster F2080 review

With a fully adjustable stand and claimed viewing angles of up to 178°, the Samsung SyncMaster F2080 is ideal for environments with awkward seating or desk arrangements. The sturdy, telescopic stand offers almost 13cm of vertical movement. Plus, the...

The height-adjustable stand and wide viewing angles are convenient, but image quality is below par and the price is way too high

Samsung F2080 review

With screen sizes going up and prices tumbling, a quick glance at this 20in monitor may not impress. While £175 is a reasonable price for a well-made LCD monitor from a name brand, there are also tempting deals from the likes of Iiyama and BenQ,...

Cheaper, larger screens can be found for less, but if you want the performance and versatility of a Samsung SyncMaster, the Samsung F2080 introduces that quality at a new, low price level.

F2080

I purchased 2 of these to replace standard 4.3 Samsung 711T's. Understanding I have had these for at least 5 years, no dead pixels, no video noise, absolutely no problems they are just 4.3, 25ms responce, and a resolution to match 1280x1024 otherwise...

Spectacular Image and color, easy setup, nice stands, I would not purchase any monitor for desktop use that the stand is not fully adjustable

The 8 Sec Responce time is of little consequence, unless your pushing the envelope its unlikely anyone will see the difference of a few seconds one way or the other

Good Monitor

This is a superb monitor and I recommend it to any professionals. It may not be the best monitor out there for gaming, but it's not terrible either. I tried a few games and didn't notice any ghosting yet, but others have had issues with it for some games.

Crisp beautiful picture. Accurate colors, deep blacks, bright whites. Evenly lit. Overall this monitor is a great buy, perfect for designers and editors ; The best part? MATTE BLACK finish! No annoying glossy black to reflect light, distract you from...

There is a light under the Samsung logo on the front of this monitor that is bright and kind of annoying. It's a pale blue color, almost white. I have not found a way to turn it off yet ; Native resolution could be higher, but it's not bad at all

Samsung SyncMaster F2080

Very Easy to set up, appreciated the choice of 2 cables supplied (old "D" & DVI). The vivid display made my old monitor look drab.

My old monitor was 4:3 format and I found new 16:9 difficult to get used to for first few days. Thought I would have to use portrait format for text but after about a week, I just got used to it.
