Samsung SyncMaster S23A550H review

The Samsung PX2370 review is consistently the most popular monitor review on CNET. Not surprising, since it's the monitor I recommend the most, on nearly a daily basis, through other monitor reviews and nearly every monitor-related blog post. The...

The Samsung SyncMaster S23A550H has a visually striking footstand, a comprehensive OSD, color mostly devoid of hue problems, and good performance displaying movies and games. The monitor's brightness is fairly high, making it good for presentation...

The S23A550H has a nasty habit of washing out bright colors, and in certain tasks it pushes too much green. Also, its connection ports are a pain to access and the cable management feature is shoddily implemented. The better-performing and...

The Samsung SyncMaster S23A550H LED monitor performs well and the price is good, but it simply pales in comparison with its predecessor.

Samsung SyncMaster S23A550H

Samsung monitors have long been known for their style and solid image quality, and the SyncMaster S23A550H ($259.99 list) continues the trend. This 23-inch beauty delivers outstanding color quality and great dark grayscale performance, and does so...

Good color and dark grayscale performance. Stylish design. Energy efficient

Weak light grayscale performance. Limited ports. Tilt-only stand

The Samsung SyncMaster S23A550H is a stylish 23-inch monitor that delivers vibrant colors and does a good job of reproducing the darkest steps of the grayscale. It's easy on your utility bill, but you don't get much in the way of connectivity and...

Samsung SyncMaster S23A550H review

To retain the display's smooth styling, Samsung has employed touch-sensitive controls. We prefer to use hardware buttons, but the onscreen menu system clearly displays each button's function directly above it to simplify the game of hide-and-seek.

It’s sleek and stylish, but the Samsung is expensive for a TN monitor – and comes with no extra features to justify the expense. Image quality is reasonable, and certainly good enough for games, but you can do better for your money.

Samsung SyncMaster S23A550H review

The Samsung SyncMaster S23A550H is a stylish 23in screen with a Full HD resolution and a clever cable management system. Two small panels on the back of the stand pop out to reveal enough space for two or three cables, and once re-assembled the effect...

A smart design and clever cable management system make the S23A550H an attractive monitor, but it's expensive and you can get better image quality for less

Overall, good monitor.

Overall, a very good monitor. I prefer old fashioned buttons to flush heat sensors for controls. Also, when eco puts the monitor to sleep it is slow to wake up sometimes. Otherwise, a good overall monitor.

Excellent picture quality, elegant design.

Some blurring during action scenes when viewing videos. This is more apparent when the camera pans across a scene than when a character or object moves.

Refurb SAMSUNG S27A550H

I never installed the software that give this more features. Perhaps in Samsung's wisdom they opted out of giving it out so one would use this as a basic monitor. The software is available to download and I have, but hesitate to install it. It is easy...

Alright I got this as refurbished goods. Thanks to all of the reviews that have gone before, I pulled the trigger on this and gave the benefit of doubt ; They say patients is a virtue, and so it goes for this acquisition ; I found the base mount system...

This arrived in a plain box and without software ; No DVI input ; Will not offer much heat come winter ; Have not owned it longer than a week

This is the single worst computer monitor I have ever had the displeasure of owning.

Nope, think I got it all out.

The only thing I can say about this thing is that it's garbage. I bought 3 all at one time in order to complete a surround setup, and I have had nothing but trouble ever since. I had one monitor do the good ol' blinki-failure on me in the first 28...

nothing short of abysmal. Now one of the monitors I have is lost in the mail, and I have no working monitors after spending 3 months of my time and over 1200 dollars, so thank you Samsung. Never have I been slighted so hard by a company whose brand I...

Mixed emotions

only two stars because of VESA and cheesy stand. I have three Samsung TVs and 2 monitors. No more VESA mount = NO MORE Samsung. You'd think they at least sell a VESA cradle of some kind--cheap.

Bright. A lot of controls

NO VESA MOUNT! What a cheesy move!! The stand doesn't give me the height I need and want ; Very hard to calibrate. According to Samsung tech the monitor has NO LUT built in

Great while it worked

I have used samsung for many years, I have 4 tvs, 3 blue rays, 3 other 23"led monitor and, 2 cell phones but after this I think I will be swithing brands for my future needs.

This Monitor has a great picture, the stand did not bother me and seemed to be sturdy on my desk

I bought the first one on 2/23/2012 and I loved it until it died on 3/4/2012(11 days) and started flashing on and off on its own mid game, soI returned to the store and got a new one on 3/5/2012 and loved it until it also died on 3/11/2012 (6 days)...

It's 27-inches, all right

I think it's a cop-out from Samsung on the VESA mount stance... Implying customers want thin over mountable. I'm sure 99.999% of customers would rather have a slightly thicker monitor in the name of having VESA mounting support. Samsung does TVs much...

Big, bright screen. No complaints there ; Light weight. Fast LED display. Seriously affordable for this size range (depending on where/when you buy it). Makes a great workplace monitor for those with employers too tightwadded to give employees the...

Same as other are reporting, really: VERY flimsy and tacky acrylic base, and a weeble-wobble experience based on the monitor size. Software that ships with it does indeed say it's not compatible with this product. (Don't know what MagicTune is/does,...
