Samsung SyncMaster 940UX

DisplayLink video chip lets you connect it via USB, which makes it highly convenient as a second display; you can daisy-chain up to six DisplayLink LCDs; decent viewing angle.

Aside from DisplayLink, the features are sparse; lower than average performance including a slow 5ms response time.

While its ability to connect to your PC via USB makes the Samsung SyncMaster 940UX a convenient second monitor, LG has a cheaper and larger DisplayLink model that also boasts better overall performance.

Samsung Syncmaster 940UX 19inch LCD Display Review

The Samsung syncmaster 940UX offers up a contrast ratio of 1000:1, brightness is pegged at a good 300 cd/m2, viewing angles sit at 160 degrees horizontal / vertical, and tripple video inputs (DVI, VGA, USB).

Samsung SyncMaster 940UX USB 19in flat-panel monitor

While most users are obsessed with upping their processor, memory or graphics card, one of the best ways of increasing PC productivity is to connect a second monitor, and the Samsung SyncMaster 940UX USB makes this easy.

You will have to pay an extra £20-£25 for the privilege, but the Samsung SyncMaster 940UX USB remains a very strong screen. The USB technology is great and allows for an extremely versatile setup that'll let you bolt on new screens far into the future....
