ViewSonic V3D231 3D-Ready 23-inch LCD Monitor Review

Final Thoughts Well even if this monitor did not have a 3D capability I would definitely recommend it.  It is one of the best displays that I have seen in a while.  The darks are very dark and the brights are very vibrant.  I really enjoyed playing...

– 3D Ready, – TriDef 3D software included, – HDMI, DVI, and VGA connections, – Thin and sleek, – Great performance, color reproduction is awesome, 2ms response time

– 3D glasses are not that comfortable, – TriDef 3D software does not get automatically installed

ViewSonic V3D231 3D Monitor Review

Active stereoscopic displays come with two significant downsides: their price and reliance on bulky battery-operated glasses. This combination along

Is GPU vendor agnostic solution ; Two 3D game modes means it can work with less powerful GPUs ; Software can convert 2D into “virtual” 3D for pictures and movies ; Fairly power efficient ; Good color gamut for a TN panel ; Real buttons ; Decent OSD ;...

The Viewsonic V3D231 is far from perfect for all consumers and scenarios, but it is not without merit either. At its most basic, it can be

Lines

For the price the lines are not a huge disappointment. After the first week I didn't even notice them. Also the lines are only present in 2D mode in 3D they go away. The speakers are noting special especially compared to my 5.1 surround, I would not...

The monitor is thin, and sleek. The 3D works very well and because it uses polarization the glasses require no batteries. This screen is bright, it is at least twice as bright as my old LCD's but the colors are not washed out. In fact the colors are...

Now for the bad. The screen seems to have hair thin horizontal lines going across it as another reviewer stated. I am pretty sure it has something to do with the polarization technology it uses for the 3D. After a while the lines become less noticeable...

You get what you pay for.

For what I paid for, I'm okay with it. I wish I would have saved a couple hundred bucks more and got an HD 3D TV with a 120hz refresh rate; but life goes on and I'll learn from the experience, just wish it didn't cost me 260 dollars to do so. I hope...

I really like the 3D. It really does look nice. I struggled between giving this three or four stars. I went with three

I'm going to be a little harsh here ; I don't care what the specs say.. this isn't 1080p. Compared to (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889262092) <- this, it's certainly not at least. It has small lines all through the...

Great Budget 3D monitor

This monitor is perfect for what I want done... a Cheap 3D monitor that accommodates both my PS3 (HDMI) and PC (DVI), without the $400+ price tag.

3D, hooks up to PS3 and Computer, does what it says, 3D can be quite stunning at times

Height is not adjustable... it's sitting on top of a box right now for height. TriDef software is hit / miss

Not 120hz

I just wanted to point out this monitor only has a 60hz refresh rate, and is a passive 3d monitor. One of the reviews mentioned it is 120hz and that might misguide people into purchasing something they do not want..

Best gaming monitor you can get at this price

The 120Hz refresh rate has helped my aim significantly. Characters move so much more fluid and are easier to predict in TF2. Solid construction. Incredibly thin and weighs next to nothing.

I could love it more if

I just bought this and an Nvidia GTX 550 Ti Graphics card and honestly? The two aren't getting along in terms of 3D compatibility. For some reason I can't just get it to work! However, right out of the box, I'm loving it's performance otherwise. It's...
