ViewSonic VP2365 LCD Monitor Review: Plain Looks, Good Performance

The $349 ViewSonic VP2365 is a bit smaller (23 inches) and a little lower in resolution (1920 by 1080) than the three highest-ranked displays in our recent roundup of widescreen LCD monitors. Its physical appearance is unimpressive, too. But it did...

Ergonomically flexible design

Light on features

Solid performance and a flexible design make the VP2365 worth considering for those who want a basic IPS-panel display with a wide viewing angle.

ViewSonic VP2365wb review: ViewSonic VP2365wb

ViewSonic VP2365wb

The ViewSonic VP2365wb has plenty of ergonomic options, a great lower-viewing angle, and accurate colors.

The ViewSonic VP2365wb has a fragile-feeling chassis and a panel that shifts colors at off angles. Also, it has a low brightness and no HDMI connection.

The ViewSonic VP2365wb has solid performance, but its low brightness gives images an overall dull look.

ViewSonic VP2365wb Review

The ViewSonic VP2365wb can be found online for about $350. For that price, you get a 23-inch E-IPS monitor with plenty of ergonomic options, five USB ports, and good performance. ...

ViewSonic VP2365wb

We wouldn't complain if we never had to review a cheap TN LCD panel ever again. Our experience with ViewSonic's VP2365wb, on the other hand, has taught us we shouldn't assume that the mere presence of an 8-bit IPS panel will ensure top-drawer...

Eight-bit IPS panel; delivers 84 percent of the NTSC color gamut; inexpensive

Low overall brightness level; slow pixel-response time

Our DisplayMate test also revealed a serious pixel-tracking error. The monitor exhibited severe flickering while displaying the highest-intensity dithering pattern in that set of tests. We didn’t encounter this problem with any of the real-world...

ViewSonic VP2365-LED

A basic display panel atop a lithe and flexible stand.

For an MSRP just a dollar shy of $350, you're securing a mid-range, mid-size monitor from ViewSonic. This product straddles the line between budget buy and long-term investment in expert fashion. Its contrast ratio is superb, much higher than is needed...

ViewSonic VP2365-LED review

Affordable IPS panels are becoming more common, but this ViewSonic is still something special

IPS panel ; Fantastic colours ; Great viewing angles, strong contrast ; Very aggressively priced ; No anti-glare sparkle or IPS glow

Falls short of TN tech for response ; Backlight could be brighter ; Chassis is dreary ; 1080p res not necessarily ideal ; 120Hz support would be nice

The influence of Apple's computers and gadgets is often over egged.

ViewSonic VP2365-LED review

With a native 1920x1080-pixel resolution, the ViewSonic VP2365-LED is a display perfectly proportioned for those who work with HD video, while its fully adjustable stand allows you to work in comfort for those long editing sessions.

If you're into photography, video or graphic arts, then the 23in ViewSonic VP2365-LED will provide a huge improvement over a TN-based display at a very reasonable price. However, multimedia fans might bemoan the lack of speakers or HDMI connectivity.

ViewSonic VP2365wb review

The ViewSonic VP2365wb monitor's design is fairly nondescript, intended for the office rather than the living room. A sharp black plastic border runs around the screen, and there's a row of old-fashioned plastic buttons on the lower edge to provide...

Admittedly, the VP2365wb doesn’t have the widest colour gamut, but it’s a match for any other monitor in the sub-£350 category. If you need a monitor for very fine photographic work, you should spend a bit more on the Eizo FlexScan SX2262W monitor, but...

Viewsonic VP2365-LED review: an affordable monitor that doesn't skimp on image quality

An efficient monitor with superb colour accuracy, but the backlight is disappointingly uneven.

The dodgy backlighting disappoints, but anyone who wants fine image quality on the cheap should cut the VP2365-LED some slack. Despite its flaws, it offers superb colour accuracy and a fine e-IPS panel, which in the budget space isn’t to be sniffed at.
