Logitech MX400 Mouse Review: Laser Technology, But Little Else

Logitech's MX400 Performance mouse boasts laser technology at a surprisingly low price, offering everyone a chance to experience the latest in mouse tech. But this is no people's hero, as a lack of features and comfort under-cuts the MX400's value.

Comfort and quality

For larger hands, it fits very well. Button layout and response is all great. No problems with any of the features of this mouse

MX 400 and the wheel of doom.

Let me first start off saying that I didn't purchase this mouse through Newegg, I got it through Logitech itself as a replacement for my old MX518 that didn't have Mac OS X support. The first thing I noticed about this mouse was that its wheel was...

Really accurate ; Works with Mac OS X

Wheel's middle and horizontal scrolling buttons

Good mouse for the price

Setpoint software is useless to me. All the buttons works just fine on XP. And if you're having a problem gaming with this mouse TURN OFF MOUSE ACCELERATION. The faster you move your mouse the further it'll go, making precise gaming impossible. Turn...

This mouse is all around a good mouse. Its laid out almost IDENTICAL to an MX518, only real difference is the lack of sensitivity adjustments and the tilt scroll wheel, which I actually use. And it weighs almost exactly the same as the MX518. Even...

The laser can be pretty sensitive at times. Every once in a while a piece of fuzz will get in the optical hole and make it track strangely. Blow it out and its ok ; The scroll wheel did act up once, felt like a lopsided tire. But it worked itself out...

Great, but not worth it.

I would love to buy this mouse again but in that statement I have the problem that it would be AGAIN and for the THIRD time. If it wouldn't have failed on me twice now I would suggest it to anyone, but because of my track record with this I'd have to...

I have to say that I loved this mouse. It does everything you would want from the specs it has. The tilt wheels are very nice and the whole design is just right on the money. I also have to give a lot of credit to the software that comes with it. I now...

I have had two break on me in the last year. One of them the tilt wheel wouldn't click one way and the other the left mouse button wouldn't always register a click. I don't know about you but I find it hard to do anything when you click your mouse and...

Logitech MX400 2-Tone 5 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB or PS/2 Wired Laser Mouse

Hope to see a variety of colors some day.

The smoothest, most responsive mouse I have ever owned. I now have 2 ( second system ) and the oldest one looks and feels as good as the new one. Great for all users, gamers included. Great investment

Thought I had a virus

I game from time to time and I dont need a mouse that turns off its connection ot hte PC while Im in the middle of battle. Real time games arent much fun if you suddenly cant move or shoot.

Nice feel. Really responsive

You must download the latest version of the software to get all the buttons working. Randomly the mouse either shuts down or goes completely crazy, zooming across the screen and clicking away. The first few times it happened I thought I had a virus....

On my Second One And Still Loving IT

I've just purchase a second one as a replacement. Being out of work for 9 months and pretty much living on Warcraft during that time this mouse has proven it worth and then some. If the mouse had a odometer than I would have flip it at least a couple...

Laser track is Great, No Maintenance, no cleaning dusty mouse balls and no blinding LED ; The 5 Buttons and Tilt wheel are easy to customize to user's liking, and a great asset to gaming or other apps where you repeatedly need to hit keys and don't...

After 2 years of heavy use (approx. 12hrs per day), I've worn the Telfon feet clear off, and only just recently the left click button started some intermittent problems.... though I almost consider this a Pro for life expentancy, tough to expect much...
