While this doesn't affect my score on the mouse, I also found Windows 7's default use for the thumb button rather useless, and the mouse programmability in general subpar. All in all, even for cheap mice this seems a little too lousy for the price....

I have installed this mouse on dozens of customer workstations. HI resolution 1000 dpi works great for CAD applications. Microsoft drivers allow for easy tweaking for specific applications and compatibility
