Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

No USB receiver required, ambidextrous design, thumb button included.

Squat shape not comfortable for long-term use; not as thin as other laptop mice.

For mobile mousing without the hassle of a receiver, Microsoft's Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 fits the bill as long as you don't mind its somewhat lumpy design.

Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Review

Assuming you can look beyond the ridiculously long name, the Microsoft Bluetooth Wireless Laser Notebook Mouse 5000 is an impressive little mouse for laptop users. If your notebook has Bluetooth but you haven't considered buying a Bluetooth mouse here...

Comfortable, ambidextrous grip ; Good sensitivity and reception ; Excellent battery life

No drivers to program buttons ; Unclear instructions ; Horrible product name

Review: Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

Microsoft's small, attractive Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 is a competent wireless pointing device. If you're running Windows on your Intel Mac, you might find it to be of more interest.

You wouldn’t, however, come to that conclusion by reading the blurbs on the 5000’s packaging or its Web site, which brag of a thumb-activated Back button "to easily navigate between folders and Web pages" and a scroll wheel–activated "AutoScroll"...

Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

The Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 is a great mouse that does not have extra bells and whistles but does the job using simplicity and compactness. The performance is quite decent for a small compact notebook mouse, and functionality is sufficient enough...

Simple install, Sleek look, No transceiver needed

Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Review

If you are like me the trackpad on your notebook just doesn't cut it for extended use. Notebook mice are great, but having to plug a transceiver into your computer is a pain. Microsoft has a new mouse called the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000...

Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

Although it's been popular on Mac's for quite some time, Bluetooth is something that is finally starting to make a very slow introduction into mainstream PC computing. With more bluetooth keyboard and mouse sets becoming available, end-users are...

Comfortable mouse for it's small size ; Great performance and laser engine ; Unique and sporty looking design and colours ; Included padded carry pouch

Uses AAA batteries instead of a single AA like most notebook mice ; No official driver support yet from Microsoft, it just has to use the standard mouse driver

For the retail price it is, the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 is an excellent mouse. It's plug-and-play capabilities make it something you can set and forget. There's no need to mess about with drivers or anything like that in order to get it...

No USB receiver required ; Ambidextrous design ; Thumb button included

Squat shape not comfortable for long-term use ; Not as thin as other laptop mice

For smaller hands, the Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 could even be a good desktop mouse, but in our average-sized paws, it might become uncomfortable if we had to use it as our only input device. But for short-term laptop use, its curved design is an...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Not a mouse, more like a contemptible sewer rat!

Works well when it works

Really doesn't work when it doesn't want to work. Microsoft uses a shotgun approach to tech support for the hundreds of complaints against it. This mouse reeks of gnarled Limburger and I'd stay away from this disease ridden rodent
